Before you start

  • A fully updated client.
  • The intended server name or community ID, if you have one.
  • A friend already in the target server when using the Steam join route.

Choose the right list first

Patch 0.11 separates Official and Community server lists, adds text search and improves filtering. Start with the list that matches the server you intend to join; searching the wrong list can look like a missing server.

  1. Open the server browser after the client finishes updating.
  2. Select Official or Community before entering a filter.
  3. Search by the visible server name or the persistent community ID.
  4. Clear filters once if the result set looks unexpectedly empty.

Use the friend route when it helps

Beta players report that joining a friend through Steam can place the joining player into the friend’s server and squad. The report does not establish a reserved faction place, an invite system or a guarantee that a full match will accept the join.

  1. Have one player enter the target server and create or join the intended squad.
  2. Use Steam’s Join Game action on that player.
  3. Wait until the loading flow finishes before buying a loadout.
  4. Compare the displayed server and faction with the group.

Verify before paying

The expensive mistake is buying a kit for the wrong match. Confirm the server, faction, squad and current objective first. If the group is split, stop and regroup rather than turning a connection problem into a lost deployment.

  1. Read the server identity and team or faction after loading.
  2. Check that the squad roster contains the people you expect.
  3. Confirm your voice channel with one teammate.
  4. Only then open the vendor and buy the intended kit.

Make a stale-list report useful

When a server still does not appear, record the list selected, exact search text, filter state, region, client version and time. That separates a browser discovery failure from a full server, a private server or a friend-join failure.

Common problems

  • An ID copied from an old screenshot may not be the current persistent community ID.
  • Being on the same server does not prove you are in the same faction or squad.
  • Do not treat the Patch 0.11 announcement as proof that every browser or join issue is fixed.
