About this guide
Keeper Mastery checks use attributed Prima Games and VGTimes reporting plus a player equipment discussion. Exact build/platform and current thresholds have not yet been tested; the earlier day-cycle limits still apply.

October 13 PC update 1.010
The PC 1.010 notice fixes inspirations needing more actions than the world permits, Town-related inspirations, Dry Cleaning and Surgeon’s Error. It supplies no replacement Mastery thresholds or optimized unlock route. Retain the displayed objective and build if a claim still fails.
Progression includes space as well as technology
The June Town diary says the Technology Tree unlocks special graveyard modules. These provide space for objects including tombs, benches, columbaries, monuments and graves. An unlock can therefore change how the graveyard is arranged, rather than only adding a production recipe.
Town growth feeds back into graveyard work
Reclaimed districts open restoration choices. Their businesses create customers and purchasable supplies, while Town growth increases incoming corpses. That connects production, restoration and graveyard management; the developer has not established one optimal starting sequence.
New progression systems
The September developer diary confirms that the Technology Tree returns alongside a new Talent System. It names Milestones as the replacement for the Teleportstone, connecting unlocked locations for fast travel.
When days and energy feel short
A large September 23 player discussion says the day cycle and energy can feel tight, but the replies disagree on whether a day is actually shorter than in the first game. No measured duration is established there. Plan around the event shown for the current day rather than trying to finish every workshop task before night.
The developer says important NPCs usually remain at their regular locations while some mechanics use designated days. Players in that discussion name sermons and Town fighting as examples of scheduled activities. Treat their exact day labels as community observations until the retail schedule is checked. Food, sleep, better tools and mastery are player-suggested ways to manage a work session; no universal energy value or best routine is verified.
Before choosing an unlock route
Complete talent branches, exact costs and Milestone locations are not verified here. The returning Technology Tree does not establish that an efficient route from the first game will work in the sequel.
1. Identify the unmet requirement
Start at the intended recipe with the Keeper as the worker. Record its technology state, required station, ingredients and displayed Mastery category. Compare the required level with your current value. Keep the recipe name in your notes: “Iron stuff” can mean several different jobs.
Prima describes unlocked blueprints that remain blocked by Mastery. Check the requirement at the point of use before spending more Tech Points.
2. Check equipment before spending Faith
Open Character and inspect the tools you have equipped. Prima’s guide describes upgrading tools to increase Mastery; compare their displayed bonuses with the category your recipe needs. Equip an available matching improvement and reopen the recipe to see whether the blocker changes.
A player discussion about Iron also points to the separate Bronze Tools item alongside a hammer. Check whether that item is unlocked and usable in your setup. Replies disagree about the remaining mastery needed and refer to different Iron crafts, so this is an equipment lead rather than a fixed Iron-unlock formula.
3. Claim Inspiration progress and inspect the perk
If equipment leaves you short, check the relevant Inspiration objective and its claim cost. Prima reports that claiming a completed tier fills the branch’s progress bar; a full bar earns an Inspiration Point for talent choices. Some claims cost Faith. Read the selected node’s effect and prerequisites before spending: one completed task does not automatically mean one extra Mastery level.
VGTimes separately reports temporary food bonuses. If relying on one, read its effect and duration in your build and retry the intended recipe while it is active. Exact bonus values and expiry behavior are not verified here.
4. Retry one craft and follow the remaining blocker
Use a single affordable batch as the check. Success means the required action starts and produces the expected item; a changed number alone is incomplete evidence. Record your before/after equipment and Mastery alongside the output.
If the recipe remains absent, recheck its technology and station. If it is present but disabled, inspect the specific missing requirement, including any displayed extension, ingredient or tool condition. For an idle zombie, use that worker’s own setup in the automation guide. Keep the installed build and a screenshot of the blocker if all displayed conditions appear satisfied.
Recent PC progression corrections
Update 1.007 reports corrected Tempering Expert Mastery and Master Armor/sword unlocks. Update 1.009 fixes day rollover when the clock reaches the exact end of the day and corrects Son of a Butcher bonuses for organ surgery and pocket extraction. These are specific developer-reported fixes, not new measured day lengths or a universal unlock route.
