WARDOGS FIELD MANUAL

Start clean.

A ten-minute route for the first drop: spend with intent, join the squad, reach the objective and leave yourself a way back in.

The official win condition is simple. The first match is not. Use this page as a checklist, then move into the economy and mechanics desks when a system needs a deeper read.

FIRST MATCH ROUTE

Your first
ten minutes.

These are sequencing decisions, not a mandatory build. The objective is to arrive useful, earn enough to recover and give the squad a better next move.

KIT / BEFORE DEPLOYMENTCommunity-reported

Buy a kit that keeps you useful

Start light enough to recover from a bad first fight. A practical beginner baseline is two extra magazines, three to five bandages, a dot sight and one class gadget such as binoculars, a hammer or an RPG.

CHECK: Can you fight, heal and do your squad job without spending the whole bank?

JOIN / SERVERCommunity-reported

Get the squad into the same fight

Use the server browser to choose a workable region. If you are joining friends, the current community workaround is Steam Join Game on a friend who is already in the server; treat it as a launch-state workaround, not a guaranteed party system.

CHECK: Everyone can see the same server, team and squad before the drop timer becomes a problem.

MOVE / FIRST ROTATIONEditorial guidance

Reach the zone with a reason

WARDOGS has three teams contesting a Control Zone. Choose a shared destination and use transport when it saves time. The route and kit order here are recommendations, not tested fastest-opening claims.

CHECK: Call the destination, the driver or pilot, and the fallback point before moving.

EARN / FIRST CONTACTCommunity-reported

Make money before you chase a clip

Spotting, revives, transport, building and Hot Zone pressure all give the squad useful ways to earn. Binoculars are a low-risk information tool; use them to create assists and calls before you commit to a long gunfight.

CHECK: Is the next action improving the squad’s position, wallet or information?

SURVIVE / RESETCommunity-reported

Leave the fight with a recovery plan

Loot bodies and backpacks after the area is safe, keep an exit route, and use smokes or medical tools to recover teammates. If you are downed, assume nearby enemies can hear you and keep calls short.

CHECK: Can the squad revive, rearm or retreat without crossing the same exposed lane twice?

SMALL HABITS

Keep the inputs
in reach.

  • Move specialist items into quickslots before the fight so the backpack is not your menu.
  • Press C from the inventory when loose ammunition needs to replenish magazines.
  • Use the Re-buy Loadout button after a clean reset; choose a cheaper fallback when the wallet is low.
