How to unlock fast travel

Build a route you will actually use

1. Recover a Vault Core and check that Lodestone construction is available. Keep it separate from Vault Shards.
2. Place a Lodestone at a useful return point. The community wiki reports that constructing your first activates the starting Temple Lodestone too.
3. Open the destination list and check the displayed Law Rune cost before committing. The community wiki reports that distance and carried weight affect the cost.
4. Our recommendation: put later stones near repeated gathering trips, rather than spending every core on a place you only visit once.

A core has more than one use

Vault Cores also appear in workstation and equipment recipes. Decide what the next core will unlock before assigning it to another travel stop. The planner can total several Lodestones, but it will not include Law Rune travel costs.

Before leaving for a new route, make a return plan: destination unlocked, travel runes available, and room in the bag for what you came to collect. Do not rely on an assumed fixed teleport price.
