15. Barber shop #
The barber shop is the smallest feature on the list, but it solves an old Classic annoyance. A player who dislikes a character’s appearance can make a change without abandoning that character’s progress or starting over.
It does not change combat or progression. It makes character creation less stressful for players who expect to spend hundreds of hours on one character.

14. Guild Bank #
Guild Bank is a straightforward organizational upgrade. Shared storage means guilds can collect and distribute crafting materials and quest items without mailing everything to a separate bank character.
The benefit is less bookkeeping and clearer access to the resources a group is already gathering. It is a quality-of-life change, but one that affects the rhythm of every active guild.

13. Camping #
Camping lets players create campsites in the outdoor world. Other adventurers can stop there, contribute profession-based objects and share campsite buffs. Blizzard’s announcement presents the system as a way to make campfires useful social meeting points rather than disposable visual effects.
WoWHub highlights the mix of utility and chance encounters. Blizzard’s Deep Dive says the first profession object unlocks at skill level 20, while more advanced objects come from dungeon-boss Blueprint recipes. A Basic Campfire can hold up to three player-contributed objects. The final values, materials and progression rules still need playable-build confirmation.

12. New race and class combinations #
Forever opens six race and class combinations that were unavailable in original Classic: Human Hunter, Gnome Priest, Dwarf Shaman, Troll Warlock, Orc Mage and Undead Paladin.
The change is meaningful at character creation because it expands familiar fantasy combinations without asking players to learn an entirely new class. The playable matrix, racial details and class tuning still need the current client and build context.

11. Legacy #
Legacy adds account-wide progression beyond the normal leveling loop. Players complete challenges tied to classes, professions, PvP, exploration, dungeons and raids, then unlock benefits that apply across their characters.
WoWHub ranks Legacy highly because it gives players something to work toward when they are not preparing for a raid. The exact reward balance matters: account-wide perks can make alts more appealing, but should not make a new character feel like a second-rate version of a veteran account.

10. World buffs removed from raids #
World buffs create memorable Classic scenes, but they can also turn raid preparation into a chore. A group that treats them as mandatory asks everyone to travel, log in at a specific time, avoid risky content and accept a painful loss when a character dies.
WoWHub’s point is that removing world buffs from raids also makes new encounters easier to balance. Players can still use them in the open world, including while leveling, without making every raid night depend on a fully buffed character state.

9. Profession updates #
Forever gives professions a larger role in character building and exploration. WoWHub points to profession-specific bonuses, new Cooking recipes and a much larger recipe pool, making professions more relevant than a pre-raid checklist or a way to sell materials.
A Hardcore player may value survivability, a raider may care about an encounter-specific benefit and a leveler may choose Cooking for faster progress. The numbers and final balance need to be checked again once the game reaches beta and launch.

8. Graphics and lighting improvements #
Forever updates Azeroth’s presentation with a new lighting system, improved water and stronger environmental effects. WoWHub points to places such as Duskwood looking darker and more ominous while the underlying Classic art direction remains recognizable.
Blizzard describes the goal as adding modern rendering touches while preserving the old world’s identity. That gives players a fresher presentation without requiring them to give up the atmosphere that made Classic distinct.

7. Skyborne and the no-token, no-boost approach #
This is the most tongue-in-cheek entry in the video. WoWHub discusses the new Skyborne race and its paid pack, then connects that shop decision to Blizzard’s statement that Forever has no plans for a WoW Token or character boosts.
The practical boundary is between optional identity purchases and paid progression. The Skyborne expands the roster, and players choose whether their character joins the Horde or Alliance at creation. A WoW Token would affect the economy; a level boost would skip part of the level 1–60 journey. The distinction will matter to players who want a Classic-style economy and a leveling game people actually play.

6. New and expanded zones #
Forever adds new destinations and expands parts of the original Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. The announced areas include Zephras Isle for the Skyborne start, the Riverglades frontier, Shen’dralas and a renewed Mount Hyjal after Archimonde’s defeat.
WoWHub likes that players can enter these places without a solved route or a complete leveling script. For new players, the zones add alternatives to crowded routes; for veterans, they create a reason to explore rather than treat the map as a finished checklist.

5. HD/SD character-model toggle #
Forever lets players choose between modern HD character models and Classic-style models. Blizzard also lists restored Classic animations for HD models as part of its visual options.
WoWHub prefers the older look, but the strength of this feature is that the choice is personal. Players who like modern models can use them, while players who want the older silhouette and animation style can keep it.

4. Opt-in transmog #
Transmog is coming to Forever, but players can choose whether they see other players’ transmogrified gear. Turning it off preserves the old visual language in which armor tells you what a character has earned and where they have been.
Turning it on keeps older content relevant because players can collect appearances after an item stops being an upgrade. WoWHub also highlights the appearance-eligibility rules for dungeon drops, which can reduce the incentive to roll on gear solely for its look.

3. New dungeons and raid content #
WoWHub is most surprised by the scale of the dungeon rollout. Blizzard has announced nine new dungeons that bring previously inaccessible or lightly used parts of Azeroth into the 1–60 journey, including Hall of Thanes, the Ruins of Lordaeron, Dalaran and Shaper’s Terrace.
The first new raid destinations are Barrow Deeps for 10 players and Hyjal Summit for 20, with Onyxia’s Lair also listed in the roadmap. Together, the dungeons and raids deepen group content without raising the permanent level cap above 60.

2. Realmless gameplay #
Forever replaces the traditional realm choice with a regional community organized by ruleset. Players choose Normal (PvE), PvP or Roleplaying at launch rather than trying to guess which named server will remain healthy months later; Hardcore is planned after launch.
WoWHub likes the social consequence: a player can encounter the same characters while leveling, questing and running later content instead of losing track of them because they chose different realms. The important question changes from “Which server should I join?” to “Which ruleset fits the way I want to play?”

1. Hardcore #
Hardcore is WoWHub’s number-one feature because it changes the emotional weight of ordinary activities. A low-level pull, an elite quest or a dangerous trip through an unfamiliar zone becomes a real decision when death carries permanent consequences.
The video describes a way for a dead character to leave Hardcore for another ruleset instead of disappearing completely. It also describes a warning before the character is moved to another layer, with an option to transfer layers if it is safe. Those details need current client confirmation. Blizzard’s roadmap places Hardcore in winter 2026–27, after the initial launch.

What this ranking says about WoW Forever #
The list favors features that extend the journey and strengthen the shared world. Guild Bank, Camping and a realmless community make it easier to meet and stay connected; new zones, professions, Legacy, dungeons and raids add depth without pushing the level cap upward.
The HD/SD toggle and opt-in transmog give players control over how much modern presentation they want to see. Removing raid world buffs and refusing boosts protects time spent playing from turning into preparation work. Hardcore gives the familiar 1–60 route a different purpose every time.
The ranking is subjective, but its pattern is consistent: WoWHub is most excited by systems that make the world feel inhabited, keep old content useful and give a character’s journey consequences.

What to watch before launch #
Blizzard’s current public schedule lists beta access beginning September 17, 2026, global launch on November 4, 2026 and the first raid openings on December 9, 2026. Hardcore is listed for winter 2026–27. Check the official roadmap and panel recap before making a launch plan.
Before launch, decide which ruleset, race/class combination, professions and visual settings fit the kind of Classic journey you want. Then revisit this ranking when the beta makes the systems playable rather than announced.
