WoW Forever vs Classic: what changes?

New content, character choices and the systems worth watching first.

QUICK ANSWER

Forever builds on Classic Azeroth with new and expanded zones, over 1,000 new quests, new race/class choices and class updates. Blizzard also names Legacy progression, Camping, profession changes and Honor updates. Existing Classic routes and builds need fresh checks.

The reported level-60 cap

Wowhead’s BlizzCon overview reports that the level cap stays at 60 indefinitely. The permanent-cap wording is attributed to that reporting here; it has not been independently verified from an official transcript in this edition.

A level cap alone does not specify the endgame progression loop. Gear tiers, Legacy rewards, raid availability and any future content phases need their own evidence.

When is an old Classic guide useful?

It can supply a vocabulary and a list of things to check. It cannot establish that the same trainer, quest prerequisite, talent value or item drop works in Forever.

For leveling and raid guides, check the Forever build, the tested faction and the author’s route evidence. A build label helps you judge whether a later hotfix could affect a recommendation.
