Prepare the existing account
- Go to Total Jerkface through the official game link below. Use the site’s login to establish which account you can access.
- If the old login fails, follow Problems logging in? on that site. The recovery destination is linked in Sources; use the prompts appropriate to your account.
- Check that the username is the one associated with your old work. A new account with a similar name is a different identity.
- Launch the official Steam edition and use its account-linking option when presented. Follow the current client’s wording and confirm the account identity before accepting a link.
What is confirmed, and what to check afterward
The official promise is an account link and automatic login across devices. It does not, in the cited feature description, enumerate every saved editor draft, favourite, replay or historical record that will appear afterward.
After linking, check the username and a specific old level or replay you already know belongs to the account. Record which items appear before treating the link as a complete transfer. A missing draft should be investigated as that specific item; it does not establish that every account item has been lost.
If linking or login does not complete
- Resolve a failed browser login before repeating the Steam link attempt.
- Keep the exact error text and note whether it appears in Steam, the browser login or the recovery form.
- Check the current developer announcement if requests time out. Launch-day database load was explicitly anticipated.
- Use the official support destination linked from Total Jerkface for a persistent issue. Do not post passwords, recovery links or one-time codes in public discussions.
Avoid these assumptions
A shared catalogue does not imply every browser action retroactively unlocks a Steam achievement. Account linking does not, by itself, establish offline access to every saved level. Neither behavior is promised by the feature wording used for this guide.
The exact Steam menu sequence and confirmation screen remain untested here. We keep that limit visible instead of inventing buttons for an account operation.
