Start with one vehicle
- Open PLAY and choose a featured level with a clear identity. Happy Green Hills by Jim Bonacci allows a character choice; BMX_Park II by Siaba forces Irresponsible Dad.
- Read the current keyboard settings. Learn accelerate, decelerate and the two lean directions before testing secondary actions.
- Reach one recognizable obstacle without using an ability. Repeat that start until you can arrive upright.
- Try the primary action separately. A Segway jump, rocket-chair thrust and a bicycle hop change the attempt in different ways.
- Use the in-game menu to restart when you cannot continue. Check for a victory state rather than assuming that surviving a fall finishes a level.
Learn body control as a separate skill
Ejecting changes what your controls do. The arrows now pose the body, and the primary action can grab a suitable object. Trying to drive and grab at the same time is a common source of confusion.
A short rope or throwing challenge is useful once you understand that change. Choose a level with a visible starting grip and a nearby target. An “impossible” challenge from a highlight video is a poor first test of whether your controls work.
Use small goals to measure progress
- Driving: arrive at the first ramp with both wheels under you.
- Leaning: change the landing angle without overturning.
- Abilities: use one primary action at a deliberate point.
- Ejection: recognize when vehicle control has ended.
- Grabbing: hold a contact point, then release it deliberately.
- Level discovery: find the same builder’s original again without relying on a vague title.
Avoid judging yourself against an edited montage
A popular video can compress many failed attempts into one funny sequence. Its upload length tells you little about how long a first clear takes. Our video notes distinguish what is visible from any unshown inputs or retries.
When a custom level has a long introduction, forced character or special instructions, read those before applying advice from another level. Community stages can have different victory conditions and deliberately restrictive geometry.
