What the reveal establishes
Blizzard’s site places the opening in The Last Days of Lordaeron and highlights a new holy warrior. Its feature description connects the prologue to the founding of Undercity.
Massively Overpowered describes an Arthas-related introduction followed by an undead-focused campaign. This is attributed launch reporting. We are not treating it as a complete synopsis or playable-hero roster.
Historical background: how the Forsaken became free Reveal solution / story details
Blizzard’s original World of Warcraft manual describes Sylvanas as Silvermoon’s Ranger-General, defeated by Arthas and raised into servitude. As the Lich King weakened, she recovered her will and led a breakaway undead faction.
Those free-willed undead became the Forsaken. The manual places Sylvanas in command from the Undercity beneath Lordaeron. This is historical context for the campaign’s destination; it does not prove the new campaign retells every event in the same way.

Read character names without inventing a roster
A familiar character in a trailer can be a narrator, ally, enemy or playable hero. Until a mission or official description establishes the role, do not plan a build around the assumption that you control them.
The Forsaken Paladin has a separately confirmed multiplayer role. Its Tavern availability should not be used to infer campaign talents, starting equipment or recruitment conditions.
