Before you start
- Read equipping and adrenaline activation first. These are automatic benefits, not emergency buttons.
- An existing route into the biome supplying your selected trophy. A low crafting-station level does not make a late-biome hunt safe with early equipment.
- A three-food kit, Rested, healing supplies, a repaired weapon and a return point suited to that biome. Keep the old trinket while gathering the new one.
Choose the problem you need the effect to solve
This comparison covers the thirteen pre-1.0 trinkets documented below. The 1.0 release also adds Neckstabber and Witch Crown; their effects, activation requirements and recipes are not yet verified here. Use this table to choose among the documented options, rather than as a complete ranking of every released trinket.
Our recommendation is to keep a simple trinket equipped for routine clearing and change only for a clear purpose. A large late-game restoration can look attractive yet arrive after the dangerous part of a short fight. Lower thresholds can activate with fewer successful actions, but no activation rate is guaranteed across weapons and encounters.
The recipe cards below are the shared reference for exact costs, thresholds, durations and effects. The comparisons explain when to use them. Restoration fills a current resource; regeneration improves its ongoing recovery. Neither replaces food as your source of maximum health, stamina or eitr.
| Your problem | Useful candidates | Practical limit |
|---|---|---|
| Repeated short fights and recovery between attacks | Heart of the Forest or Bronze Pendant | Regeneration is gradual; retreat and heal when needed. |
| Need space or a little more defensive margin | Nimble Anklet, Iron Brooch or Evasion Mantle | They activate on their threshold, not on command. |
| A weapon-specific benefit during sustained combat | Wolf Sight, Bracelets of the Brave or Resounding Shackle | Match pierce, blunt or slash to the weapon you actually use. |
| Physical damage threatens the run | Crystal Heart | Physical resistance does not cover fire, poison or other elemental damage. |
| Magic runs out of eitr | Pulsating Earrings or Jörmundling | Eitr food and safe refill time are still needed. |
| A planned short swim or sustained mixed-resource fight | Fins of Destiny or Brimstone | Swimming still consumes stamina; Brimstone needs the highest threshold. |

Swamp: choose movement or a brief armor window
Iron Brooch suits an attrition-heavy fight when its heal and short armor window are useful. Nimble Anklet supplies stamina and a speed window for repositioning. Neither is a reason to let a Draugr surround you while waiting for activation.
Follow Swamp preparation for poison resistance, dry routes, food and retreat, then clear and haul a crypt for iron and Withered bones. Smelt the scrap and cut an Ancient tree for bark. Reserve Bonemass’s ten offering bones separately before spending five on the Anklet.
For a Leech trophy, watch Swamp water for movement and draw the Leech to a shallow shoreline. Attack from dry footing with your bow or an attack that reaches the water, clear nearby threats, then collect the drop. Do not swim after a live Leech; its bite poisons.
For a Surtling trophy, mark a Swamp fire geyser and approach from clear ground. Strafe its fireballs and use a bow or a short opening. Water damages Surtlings, so an approach beside shallow water can help; rain alone does not kill them. The trophy is a chance drop, so retain your existing trinket if repeated visits exceed your supplies.

Ocean: activate the swimming window before entering water
Fins of Destiny is a travel tool with a low 10-adrenaline threshold. Its speed and stamina-use improvements last two minutes once active. A ready Forsaken-power activation provides those 10 points; equipping the Fins first and then successfully using the power is a practical way to trigger the window before a planned swim. Check the actual effect icon before entering the water.
Use the Leviathan route for Chitin and the shoreline Serpent hunt for scales and the trophy. Both scales and trophy sink, so killing a Serpent in deep ocean is a poor collection plan. The same trophy also has other uses; bank one for the Fins before spending it elsewhere.
Keep the boat, stamina food, nearby landing and recovery route. This reduces swimming stamina use rather than removing it, and provides no protection from Ashlands boiling water. A shipwreck with an unavailable Forsaken power is not a reliable moment to improvise activation.
| Make | Materials per craft | Station |
|---|---|---|
| 1 × Fins of Destiny | 5 Chitin + 5 Serpent scale + 1 Serpent trophy | Forge level 1 |

Mountains: ranged pressure or physical resistance
Wolf Sight favors a practiced bow or spear and improves pierce damage. Crystal Heart instead gives temporary resistance to blunt, slash and pierce. Its resistance does not stack with Bonemass power; choose a different benefit if the same protection already covers your planned window. Use the power comparison to coordinate the two choices.
Follow Mountain survival and silver mining, then the Mountain equipment route. Keep frost protection on the main and recovery kits. Silver bars come from the Smelter, while Wolf fangs can be gathered during ordinary Wolf encounters or from Fenrings.
Wolf Sight needs a Fenring trophy, not a Wolf trophy. Scout a known Mountain at night with a protected retreat already in place. Watch its crouch and pounce, move out of the landing path and take a short opening after the attack. Its howl can bring nearby wolves into the fight; withdraw if the encounter becomes a pack. Do not wait until food or frost protection expires for one more spawn.
Crystal Heart needs a Stone Golem trophy as well as Crystal. Look for golems in tall Mountains, clear other enemies first and fight on ground that leaves room for their slams, thrusts and sweeps. A familiar blunt weapon is our conservative choice; pickaxes exploit a documented weakness but demand close commitment. Its fire, frost, poison and spirit immunities make those components ineffective. Save stamina to move completely out of the windup and return for a brief attack.
A defeated golem supplies Crystal, but its trophy is a chance drop. Frost Caves can provide more Crystal without solving the trophy requirement. Keep the earlier trinket if the hunt is consuming more supplies than the benefit is worth.
| Make | Materials per craft | Station |
|---|---|---|
| 1 × Wolf Sight | 5 Silver + 5 Wolf fang + 1 Fenring trophy | Forge level 1 |
| 1 × Crystal Heart | 5 Silver + 5 Crystal + 1 Stone Golem trophy | Forge level 1 |

Plains: support the attacks and defenses you actually use
Bracelets of the Brave combine an immediate heal with a Clubs skill and blunt-damage window. Evasion Mantle instead helps active blocking, parrying and dodging. The Mantle increases parry block armor through the item’s existing parry bonus; it is not a blanket 50% armor improvement or a guarantee you can parry a starred enemy.
Use the Plains processing route to smelt Black metal in a Blast furnace and spin Flax into Linen thread. Both trinkets still use the ordinary Forge, not the Black forge. Hunt lox for the Bracelets’ pelts and trophy using the lox encounter and reserve guidance; do not slaughter your only breeding pair for a chance drop.
For the Mantle’s Fuling berserker trophy, scout village edges with the Plains approach. Use a bow to draw a single manageable enemy onto cleared ground, move away through its heavy attack sequence and take short openings afterward. Do not charge a whole village to force a trophy attempt. A normal Fuling or shaman trophy is the wrong item.

|---|---|---|
| 1 × Bracelets of the Brave | 5 Black metal + 5 Lox pelt + 1 Lox trophy | Forge level 1 |
| 1 × Evasion Mantle | 5 Black metal + 1 Fuling berserker trophy + 10 Linen thread | Forge level 1 |

Mistlands: support eitr recovery or a slash weapon
Pulsating Earrings increase eitr regeneration, so they fit sustained casting with eitr food. Resounding Shackle restores stamina immediately and then improves slash damage, fitting a sword or other slash weapon. Neither makes an empty eitr or stamina budget safe before it triggers.
Build the Black forge and eitr refinery chain. These recipes need only Black forge level 1. Gather ordinary Carapace from Seekers for the Earrings; the Queen’s Majestic carapace is not a substitute.
For a Gjall trophy, follow the Gjall response: drink fire resistance before contact, keep space to move, shoot its exposed underside, and clear ticks between shots. Bank any trophy before continuing the trip. The chance drop does not justify shooting blindly into mist or losing the exit.
For the Shackle, hunt Hares for Scale hide, ordinary Seekers for their trophy, and a Seeker soldier for its Mandible. The mine-clearing route covers controlled fights and retreats; the soldier’s rear abdomen is the useful opening. A Seeker soldier trophy cannot replace the ordinary Seeker trophy in this recipe.
| Make | Materials per craft | Station |
|---|---|---|
| 1 × Pulsating Earrings | 5 Carapace + 5 Refined eitr + 1 Gjall trophy | Black forge level 1 |
| 1 × Resounding Shackle | 5 Refined eitr + 5 Scale hide + 1 Mandible + 1 Seeker trophy | Black forge level 1 |

Ashlands: compare a magic window with a large automatic refill
Jörmundling supplies an immediate eitr refill and temporary bonuses to both magic skills. Brimstone restores health and stamina without a lasting timed buff, but needs 100 adrenaline. Our recommendation is to favor the option your real combat sequence can trigger before resources become critical, rather than the largest number in isolation.
Use Flametal processing and the existing eitr supply. Both trinkets craft at Black forge level 1 despite their late ingredients. Reserve Jörmundling’s Bloodstone against Gem cutter and weapon plans; it comes from fortress chests.
For a Fallen Valkyrie trophy, choose cleared ground well away from the return portal. Bring repaired Ashlands equipment, three foods, healing, fire resistance and poison resistance for its mixed projectile hazard. Move laterally through its three-projectile volley and avoid the burning impact areas. When it folds its wings before a spin, back away before committing another attack; attack only in an opening that leaves an escape reserve. A bow or practiced magic lets you fight at range, but fire meets resistance and poison is ineffective. Withdraw if extra enemies close the route.
For Brimstone, use the Putrid Hole approach to hunt Morgens and search for a Molten core. Dodge or move clear of lunges and rolls, retain the dungeon exit and take short openings. A core is not guaranteed in every hole and a trophy is not guaranteed from each Morgen. Preserve the cores already allocated to your transport network.
Collect Brimstone’s Sulfur from the hanging rocks beneath surface Sulfur arches: the pickups need no tool. Clear threats around the arch first. This avoids turning an optional trinket budget into another lava expedition.

|---|---|---|
| 1 × Jörmundling | 5 Flametal + 5 Refined eitr + 1 Bloodstone + 1 Fallen Valkyrie trophy | Black forge level 1 |

Change the loadout at a safe stop and keep the old one
You can wear only one trinket at a time. Previously activated effects can continue after switching, but rapid inventory swaps add complexity and occupy more carrying space. Our recommended route works with one equipped choice and a spare at home.
- Store the collected trophy and scarce materials, choose the recipe, then craft at the correct sheltered station. Transport bars using the appropriate metal route; ordinary portals do not carry loose metals.
- Equip the new trinket and confirm the equipped highlight. Keep one old trinket and a full food/equipment reserve at home. Take only the selected item on the first normal outing.
- Observe whether its benefit arrives during the part of the fight you intended. If the threshold rarely fills, switch back at the safe stop or select a lower-threshold option; do not manufacture danger to make the expensive item feel useful.
- After a death, restore food and Rested, use the known return route and retrieve the trinket with the kit. Re-equip it after recovering. If a camp was destroyed, rebuild, claim and verify its bed and restore its portal before resuming the hunt.

My late-game trinket rarely triggers.
Its threshold may be too high for your short fights or pauses. Keep a lower-threshold useful trinket rather than taking extra hits to force the bar full.
Crystal Heart did not add more resistance to Bonemass.
Those physical resistances do not stack. Pick a complementary trinket or use their different activation windows instead.
Jörmundling did not give permanent eitr or skill levels.
It restores current eitr and grants a temporary skill window. Eitr food is still required and the skill bonus is not permanent experience.
I have Carapace or a trophy, but the recipe still fails.
Check the exact item: ordinary Carapace differs from Majestic carapace, Seeker trophy differs from Seeker soldier trophy, and Wolf Sight needs Fenring trophy. Handle every ingredient and check the correct Forge type.
