The short answer
Skill names, trees, sockets, respec rules and damage numbers are all unresolved. What is useful today is the verification frame: each skill record must carry name, source, unlock context and status; builds are editorially labeled; balance conclusions are never published without current evidence. Plan your build around questions, not numbers.

Build logic that survives without data
- Write your role goal (from classes-and-roles) before any skill exists.
- List the questions a skill must answer for you: single-target damage, crowd control, mobility, survivability, party utility.
- When skills are verified, score candidates against your list — do not chase high numbers before numbers are real.
- Treat any “meta build” from an unverified source as entertainment, not a plan.

Respec: the build’s life raft
Whether AION 2 allows free respec, paid respec or none is unresolved. Record what you observe at launch (platform, build, date): that observation becomes the first Observed claim on this subject and may save someone else’s build.

Troubleshooting: conflicting build advice
If two sources give different numbers, the status labels resolve it: official text outranks observed play, observed play outranks inference, and everything outranks a forum thread with no build recorded.
Never assume numbers shown in trailers survive to launch; trailers are promotional, not mechanical evidence.
