Ruins of Lordaeron: a healer’s first-run checklist

Prepare your group, mana breaks and encounter questions before healing Ruins of Lordaeron in the Forever beta.

Needs playable verificationOfficial beta scope and community encounter reporting. No Kingy dungeon run or verified healing rotation.

QUICK ANSWER

Agree on a mana-break signal, check the party’s ruleset and faction, and confirm which encounters you intend to attempt. Blizzard lists Ruins of Lordaeron in the opening beta’s level 15–20 content range. That range is not a tested minimum-entry or healer-readiness guarantee.

Before you start

  • A healer character with access to the relevant beta content.
  • A group that agrees to pause for mana and explain unfamiliar pulls.

Make the first five minutes useful #

The checklist below is Kingy’s preparation advice. It does not prescribe a gear threshold, healing rotation or timed route that we have not tested.

  1. Tell the group this is a first run and agree a short signal for stopping. Ask the tank to wait for your ready call after breaks.
  2. Check your currently learned healing and recovery abilities in the client. Put the spells you actually have on reachable binds; do not build around a future talent or a Classic spell assumption.
  3. Check your supplies and free bag space. Agree who can handle interrupts, crowd control and relevant debuffs after verifying their current abilities.
  4. Write down the client build, party levels and starting objective. Choose a stopping point that leaves time for a safe exit and a session note.

Reported cues to discuss before a pull #

Community report

Ruse_Cruize’s guide, reviewed September 25, reports the cues below. Client build and Kingy reproduction remain unverified. The responses are preparation questions derived from that report.

The Baron: close-range cleave and tank knockbackWhere can I stand away from the cleave while keeping the tank in reach?
The Abandoned: Drain Life; Rath’mael: FlamestrikeWho will interrupt or stun, and who calls a missed stop?
Bjork: concentrated tank damage and knockbackWhere is the tank moving, and when should I call for a pause?
Viktor: a triggered sequence of rapid enemy wavesIs everyone ready before the trigger, and have we agreed how to manage mana?

Use a repeatable pull routine #

These are coordination habits, not promises about encounter timing or the correct response to every ability. The linked Deep Dive supplies the combat-design context for this advice.

  1. Before the pull, check mana, positioning and whether the group is ready. Call a needed break before combat starts.
  2. During the pull, distinguish avoidable damage, tank pressure and a missed control assignment. Ask for a specific change rather than assuming a different healing spell will solve every problem.
  3. After the pull, take the agreed recovery time and record one useful observation. If the encounter differs from the report, note that difference and your build.
  4. After a wipe, stop and agree one change for the next attempt. Check the actual return route together rather than relying on an unverified shortcut.

Check a camp’s benefit before spending supplies #

Blizzard describes profession Camping benefits as variants of class buffs that do not stack with their class equivalents. A Spirit banner is not automatically an extra benefit for every party. Check the current tooltip and existing buffs; Legacy perks can also affect Camping costs, duration and cooldown.

Leave a note you can use next time #

This is our suggested recording format for the beta content Blizzard describes.

  • Build, date, your level and the encounters actually attempted.
  • The pull that needed a different position, interrupt assignment or recovery break.
  • What you directly observed, kept separate from a guide’s prediction.
  • One concrete change for the next run; no claim of a complete loot table from a single visit.
