How WoW Forever name reservations work

Eligibility, the reservation window and a practical preparation list.

QUICK ANSWER

The published reservation window is October 27–November 3, 2026. Early name reservations are included with the Skyborne Heroic Pack and the editions above it. Names are first come, first served and account-specific.

Before you start

  • An eligible pack on the account you intend to use.
  • A shortlist of names and backup spellings.

Prepare before the window opens

  1. Check that the correct Battle.net account owns an edition listing early name reservations.
  2. Pick a preferred name plus two or three alternatives with your group.
  3. Read Blizzard’s current instructions for the realm, character and account restrictions before the window opens.
  4. Keep October 27–November 3 on your calendar; the reviewed terms do not establish an exact regional opening hour.

During reservations

Follow the official reservation flow when Blizzard makes it available. A preferred name is not guaranteed: the terms say first come, first served. Account-specific reservations should not be treated as transferable promises to friends.

This guide does not give a client menu path yet. The reviewed announcement does not establish the final interface, number of reservations per account or every realm restriction. Those details need the reservation instructions themselves.

If your first choice is unavailable

  • Use a prepared alternative and check its spelling carefully.
  • Confirm you are on the intended account and the intended realm, if a realm selection is offered.
  • Check the official instructions before assuming an existing Classic character reserves its name in Forever. Character transfer and automatic name carryover have not been established here.
