The short answer
Prepare Heat Tolerance, then search the rocks near the crashed colony ship east of the Lifepod. Collect loose Gold by hand and use the Sonic Resonator for large deposits. Confirm the pickup before heading home.
Before you start
- Unlock Heat Tolerance with the Angel Combs guide before entering the heated area.
- Bring a charged Sonic Resonator, oxygen support and inventory space. Plan your return before collecting.
Prepare for heat and the return trip
GamesRadar places Gold in the hot Graveyard east of the Lifepod and recommends Heat Tolerance before searching there. Its deeper-water advice includes a Tadpole and Rebreather; follow the existing oxygen and vehicle guides for preparation.
Kingy trip check: stay within your current vehicle depth rating, watch health and temperature, and keep enough oxygen to return. Heat preparation does not establish a safe route past wildlife.

Search the rocks near the crashed colony ship
PC Gamer reports Gold around a crashed colony ship about 450 m east of the Lifepod. Treat this as an approximate published landmark and use the wreck and surrounding rocks to orient yourself. The guide warns of large predators patrolling the wreck.
The reported heat cues are a temperature gauge, orange water and drifting sparks. Turn back if your preparation is inadequate; reaching the landmark is not a reason to exhaust your return supplies.

Confirm Gold and match the tool to the deposit
GamesRadar describes rounded, cage-like Gold deposits, distinct from the yellow Sulfur nearby. Check the interaction label rather than relying on colour alone.
PC Gamer distinguishes loose fragments you can collect by hand, small breakable blocks and large deposits requiring the Sonic Resonator. Use the mining guide for the tool unlock. Confirm Gold has entered your inventory before continuing.
Choose what the trip will supply
Gold is used in Advanced Wiring Kits and Thermal Plants, and can also be processed into Gold Ingots. The base-power and Entangled Power Cell guides below connect these materials to existing recipes. Check the exact recipe and station in your build before planning a batch.
If you only need Strong Acid, Gold is not required for the Cyst recipe: GamesRadar lists 2 Necrolei Cysts in a powered Processor. The crafting-stations guide covers that route.
Use pings to find a node, then inspect it
Buddy System fixed large Gold nodes failing to show their resource-ping icon. A ping helps locate a deposit; it does not replace the collection tool for that deposit. Use the Scanner Station guide for selecting resource contacts.
These are source-based gathering pointers. Kingy has not play-tested this route or measured node yields, respawn times or a farming rate.
