Zombies fill two connected but distinct roles: workers who operate production systems and soldiers who join the undead army. The developer also confirms semi-automatic machines, underground factories, skill progression, specialization, and corruption as part of the sequel’s zombie systems.

Build two kinds of workforce
Keep production workers assigned to the jobs that stabilize your resource and crafting chains. Treat combat troops as a separate preparation problem so a useful factory worker is not automatically your best soldier.
What the developer has confirmed
Zombies can operate semi-automatic machines in underground factories, develop skills, specialize into different roles, and fight in the campaign to restore the Town and save the realm.
What to test at launch
Record worker assignments, skill effects, corruption sources, machine compatibility, factory logistics, throughput, soldier training, equipment slots, battle roles, and the cost of moving a zombie between jobs.
