The short answer
Collect loose Silver by hand for your early equipment; large deposits need the Sonic Resonator. A Standard Air Tank needs 2 Silver, and a Wakemaker needs 2 more when you include its Wiring Kit. Keep these amounts raw until you know which components you still need.
Before you start
- Free inventory space and a return route to oxygen. Bring the Multitool and any oxygen equipment you already own.
- A charged Sonic Resonator is needed for large deposits. Scanner Station and Metal Farm use come later, after their blueprints and base power are ready.
Choose one cave approach
These are separate published approaches. The northern route is already described step by step in the linked resource guide. Use the landmarks you can recognise and stop exploring when your return oxygen requires it; neither route guarantees a fixed amount of Silver.
| Approach | Where to search |
|---|---|
| Northern colony route · PC Gamer | Use the existing resource-routes guide: pass the raised Coral Dome, then check the concealed cave beneath the Jelly Lei overhang before the ruined building. |
| Camp One alternative · Prima | Search the cave system around Camp One and the Quaker black-box objective. Look along the cave walls for Silver mixed with Copper. |

Collect loose pieces before mining large deposits
Adaptive Measures corrected some regular resource nodes that wrongly displayed a Sonic Resonator requirement. That fix does not remove the tool requirement for large deposits. If the current interaction remains inconsistent, record the location and report the problem rather than relying on an old screenshot.
- Inspect the node and follow its current interaction prompt. Small loose Silver can be collected by hand.
- If you find a large deposit before unlocking the Sonic Resonator, note the location and keep searching for loose pieces.
- For a mining trip, bring the charged Sonic Resonator, break the deposit and collect the released mineral. Confirm the inventory count before leaving.

Count the Silver inside your components
A new Standard Air Tank and Wakemaker therefore need 4 Silver between them. This is recipe arithmetic, not a promised haul. The table gives the Silver portion; use the linked equipment guides for every other ingredient and blueprint requirement.
Count finished components before gathering: an existing Wiring Kit already contains its Silver. Keep the raw ore needed for immediate recipes before making Silver Ingots. A Silver Ingot is a separate ingredient, not a substitute for raw Silver in these recipes.
| Target | Raw Silver portion | Component detail |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Air Tank | 2 | Other ingredients: 2 Titanium and 1 Rubber. |
| Wiring Kit | 1 | Combine with 1 Copper Wire at the Fabricator. |
| Wakemaker | 2 | 1 direct Silver plus 1 in its Wiring Kit. |
| Scanner Station | 2 | 1 in the separate Wiring Kit and 1 in the System Chip’s Wiring Kit. |
| Silver Ingot | 3 | Process 3 raw Silver at the Processor. |
Use a Scanner Station for the next gathering trip
Once the station is built and powered, choose Silver and select a displayed contact to create a signal. Follow the existing Scanner Station guide for the controls, published range and troubleshooting.
A signal helps you find a resource; it does not harvest it or change the tool needed. Bring the Sonic Resonator if you intend to mine large deposits, and keep a visible return landmark.
Reserve a raw Silver sample for a Metal Farm
GameSpot and GameWith list Silver as an accepted Metal Farm input. Once you have the farm, insert raw Silver, confirm its power connection, wait for the displayed timer and harvest with the current tool prompt. Use the linked farm guide for construction and power setup.
Reserve the sample before processing the rest of your stock. Buddy System fixed resource-swap timing exploits and farm power faults; use the current display instead of planning around a fixed cycle time or an old exploit.
Account for the released Silver changes
Hotfix 2 added early Silver resource areas on May 22. Adaptive Measures later updated Silver in Coral Gardens, added a nearby Silver hint line and corrected Silver nook pickup logic and art. Launch-era node counts and screenshots may therefore differ from your save.
Kingy has checked published walkthroughs and released updates, without independently recording these trips. No fixed respawn interval, per-node yield, interaction count, minimum depth or fastest route is established here.
