The short answer
Collect small Lead pieces by hand before crafting the Sonic Resonator. Published routes point to a ravine northeast of the Lifepod. Reserve 2 Lead for the tool, then return with it to mine large veins.
Before you start
- Leave inventory space and enough oxygen to return from the ravine. The oxygen guide covers equipment and refill options.
- Finish the Sonic Resonator scans and prepare its other ingredients through the linked tool and crafting guides. Loose Lead can be collected before you own it.
Follow the northeast ravine landmarks
These are published landmarks, not a route Kingy has recorded in the current build. Treat the distance as approximate and plan the return before descending.
- Head northeast from the Lifepod and look below for a blue natural current. PC Gamer places the ravine roughly 280 m from the pod.
- The current leads down into the ravine. Look for the colony platform on the left and the nearby Tadpole fragment.
- Look along the sand farther north or east through the ravine for small Lead pieces. Check the resource label and pickup prompt.
- Kingy preparation note: stop while you can still return with your remaining oxygen. Two Lead covers the raw Lead portion of your first Sonic Resonator.
Collect loose pieces before mining large veins
Small Lead deposits can be picked up by hand. Large veins need the Sonic Resonator, so leave them for a later trip if you are gathering the tool’s first ingredients.

Reserve Lead for the next craft
These are Lead-only recipe amounts, not a guaranteed haul. Check which components you already own and keep the tool’s Lead separate from cooking ingredients until you have crafted it.

Use the wreck as a later collection landmark
GameWith identifies the Cicada Wreck, also called Lander Garage, northeast of the Lifepod as another Lead location. Look around the seafloor by the wreck. Its published distances vary, so use the landmark rather than treating it as the same point as the earlier ravine.
After crafting the Sonic Resonator, bring it charged when returning for large veins. Use the linked Beacons and signals guide to mark a useful return location; the Scanner Station guide explains contacts if Lead appears in your available filters.
Account for the released ping fix
Buddy System fixed large Lead and Gold nodes failing to display a resource icon when pinged. A ping does not remove the gathering-tool requirement.
This guide does not establish natural-node respawn times, per-node yields or Metal Farm Lead behavior. Check the actual stock and current interaction when planning another trip.
