Multiplayer is officially a 1v4 mode: one player is Michael Myers and four are Civilians. The first useful decision is your role, not a remembered route from another horror game.

  1. Read your visible objective and Special Targets before you chase.
  2. Use the environment to decide whether a target is worth committing to.
  3. Re-check residents and escape activity after a pursuit changes the situation.

Open the Michael guide for published tool conditions and patch context.

  1. Read the objective and find residents, points of interest, and possible escapes.
  2. Call out a resident, a useful item, an escape sequence, or a threat before the group splits.
  3. Adapt to the objects actually present: official guidance says items and escapes can vary by match.

Open the Civilian guide for the official resident and conversation flow.

  • Update every party member to the same current build.
  • Check platform, audio, input, and privacy settings.
  • Keep the patch and platform with any observation you report.

A single surprising outcome is a lead, not a rule. A useful report includes role, map, objective state, exact prompt, result, and whether it repeated.

  1. Choose the guide for your assigned role: Michael or Civilians.
  2. Read the on-screen objective before following another player. Player characters and resident NPCs are different parts of the published multiplayer loop.
  3. Use a visible landmark when communicating your position. The map overview supplies orientation, not fixed spawn routes.
  4. Save the end-screen wording if a result surprises you. Individual escape and final team scoring should not be treated as interchangeable without evidence.
