Patch 1.0.3 changes the knockdown window

Michael gains brief stagger immunity and increased resistance, attack power, attack speed and regeneration after recovering from a down. Repeated immediate knockdowns shown in older footage are not a verified current detainment strategy.

The update does not publish an arrest threshold, officer requirement or a new detainment input sequence. Keep the older reported route below labeled as a community lead; a knockdown still does not prove that detainment has completed.

Evidence boundary: Official material confirms only the high-level ingredients for detainment. The step-by-step route below is a community report from September 9, not a Kingy reproduction. Treat it as a test plan.

Michael is not a normal kill target. Separate the published detainment objective from the community-reported sequence used to attempt it, and record the exact prompt before calling the route confirmed.

What is officially established

Officially verified: IllFonic’s multiplayer overview says enough community resistance, proper equipment, and manpower can detain Michael. It does not publish the arrest meter threshold, the required officer count, the role of Loomis, or the input sequence.

That boundary matters: a successful knockdown is not, by itself, official proof of an arrest state.

Reported route to test

Community lead — needs confirmation: All Things How’s arrest guide reports the following route. Use each row as a checkpoint and record what your current build actually shows.

StageReported actionWhat to record
1. Get police into the matchUse a phone or a resident’s Call For Help optionWhich prompt started the call and whether officers arrived
2. Create a spectatorHave a player escape or dieWhether the spectator can access the next call option
3. Call Loomis or reinforcementsThe spectator uses a CB radio or the Reinforcements Available optionWho returns and whether the returning officer is human-controlled
4. Build arrest pressureKeep Michael near police or Loomis until the handcuff meter fillsWhether the meter changes only with an officer in range
5. Finish the arrestWith the meter full, knock Michael down and complete the Arrest prompt before he recoversThe exact prompt, timing, and result screen

The guide’s sequence is valuable because it makes the missing variables visible. It is not a guaranteed order for every mode, map, platform, or patch.

Why a downed Michael may stand up

The community report identifies three possible failure states: the meter was not full, no human officer was close enough, or Michael was downed too far from the officers. Treat these as hypotheses to test, not established thresholds.

Do not spend the whole match repeating a knockdown without checking the meter and officer position. If the prompt disappears, note whether Michael recovered, whether the officers were NPCs, and whether the team had a live spectator.

When escape is the better option

If the police, spectator, or Loomis prerequisite is missing and a viable exit is open, an escape is the more reliable published objective. Start with Escapes, Police, and Objectives, then preserve the exact prompt if your team continues testing detainment.

Patch context

Patch 1.0.2 officially closes a vulnerability where Michael could be killed during his Storm Cellar or Exit Gate interaction. That is not the same as detainment and should not be used as a plan. The patch does not publish arrest thresholds or a revised detainment sequence.

Open questions

  • Exact handcuff-meter threshold and whether it fills continuously or in stages
  • Number, type, and range of officers required
  • Whether a human-controlled officer is mandatory
  • Exact knockdown and Arrest prompt timing
  • Whether the route differs by map, platform, mode, or patch
  • Whether an NPC officer can finish the arrest without a human spectator
