Source scope: includes pre-release official descriptions. Released mechanics have not been independently playtested by this wiki.

The confirmed Civilian flow is: locate residents, persuade them of the threat, use available conversations, and guide residents toward possible randomized escapes. This page separates that published flow from the unanswered timing and win-condition questions.

Official guidance says lootable containers contain weapons, distractions, and key items that can be used to unlock and access escape routes. It does not publish a complete route list, prerequisite order, fixed spawn, or timer.

  1. Confirm the visible interaction and current objective.
  2. Tell the team what item, resident, or route state changed.
  3. Keep the platform and patch with a repeat observation.

Successful resident conversations can allow Civilians to request additional calls to police, direct residents to secure hiding places, or gain companionship. The official overview says enough community resistance, proper equipment, and manpower can detain Michael, but it does not publish the precise conditions. Do not turn that description into a checklist.

IllFonic says initiating an escape sequence alerts Michael to the Civilian's exact location. Patch 1.0.1 says Civilians discover Escapes from farther away and lists police NPC pathing fixes plus Resident pathing fixes into Escapes. It also fixes certain escape locations where a departing character body did not disappear and wooden-board blockers that could disappear without being destroyed. These are build-specific statements, not measured timings or route rules.

A useful correction includes platform, build, map, role, objective state, prompt, prerequisite, failure case, and repeat result.
