The short answer
Scan two Portable Oxygen Generators in the Great Jaw, then build one with the Habitat Builder using 3 Titanium and 2 Lithium. Insert a charged Basic Battery. Its oxygen reservoir refills over time and supplies a small top-up when used; keep enough oxygen for your return.
Before you start
- Bring a charged Scanner and plan the return to an oxygen source before entering the Great Jaw.
- Unlock the Habitat Builder; reserve 3 Titanium, 2 Lithium and a charged Basic Battery for your generator.
Prepare the Great Jaw scan trip
GameSpot places the Great Jaw approximately 280 metres south-southwest of the Lifepod. Treat this as a published approach, not an exact coordinate. Avoid the pink or purple tendons: touching them can close the creature, and GameSpot describes lethal acid inside.
Buddy System stopped bases being built inside the Great Jaw. Plan your return outside the creature and leave before your oxygen reserve gets low. Kingy has not independently recorded this trip.
Find both generator fragments
GameWith and GameSpot agree that two scans unlock the blueprint. GameWith identifies these two positions in the Great Jaw’s core:
- Locate and scan both fragments without brushing the tendons.
- Confirm the blueprint is unlocked, then return to your oxygen source. Break up the trip if your reserve requires it.

Build it in Habitat Builder’s Utility menu

Let the oxygen reservoir refill between uses
GameSpot and GameWith report these values. They describe oxygen gained, not a guaranteed number of extra seconds underwater. The reservoir replenishes over time; that does not mean the battery recharges itself.
- Insert the charged Basic Battery and allow oxygen to accumulate.
- Use the generator’s displayed interaction to take oxygen. It can be carried; GameWith also describes leaving it floating.
- Allow the reservoir to refill before another use. Keep a charged spare battery for when the installed one runs down.

Keep a separate return plan
If a use gives less oxygen, allow more time for the reservoir to fill. Check battery charge as well. Practise a use near a known oxygen source before relying on it during a longer trip.
Use the generator alongside your tank and other oxygen equipment. Kingy has not measured refill speed, battery runtime or breaths per battery, and does not claim an unlimited dive. Vehicle mounting, Advanced Battery compatibility and multiplayer edge cases remain unverified here.
