Start with the hero, not the tier list
The four main stories begin with different motives. Their reasons for entering the Heroic Games are confirmed; their complete starting builds, recruitment routes and growth values are not.
| Hero | Story motive | Useful first read |
|---|---|---|
| Cai | Free his imprisoned father. | Ribeira |
| Dietrich | Find stronger opponents after a monster attack and shipwreck. | Combat & preparation |
| Theodora | Defend Saramis and honor the Keeper of Death and Night. | Saramis |
| Leda | Find her father’s murderer. | Story & timeline |
The player’s soul is the bridge between the four paths. Sothis charges that soul with saving the future, while Fortuna provides the time-related power that lets the earlier stories change course.
How classes fit into the plan
A class changes a unit’s abilities, weapon access and movement range. Nintendo describes five Beginner classes, more than ten Specialty classes and Advanced classes built around mastery. Certification exams connect the tiers, but the requirements and failure costs are not public. Source 12 ↗
| Tier | Named examples | What the examples suggest |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | Gladiator, Diviner, Ornius Rider | Weapon focus, magic or increased movement. |
| Specialty | Armored Knight, Wing Soldier, Charioteer | Defense, obstacle-clearing mobility or linear multi-target attacks. |
| Advanced | Cataphract, Guardian, Elephant Rider | Armored cavalry, white magic and spears or a giant mount. |
These are examples, not a complete class tree or a ranking.
A safe way to plan
- Check a unit’s current class, weapons and movement.
- Match the role to the next battlefield rather than choosing by tier name alone.
- Train at Arena Plaza when the weekly opportunity is available.
- Confirm weapon access after a certification exam.
- Keep unknown costs, mastery skills, growths and eligibility separate from confirmed facts.
Building the roster
Recruitment can happen around Dagsion. A warrior may refuse at first, and gifts or shared meals may persuade them to join. Inns are also the confirmed place for character conversations and support scenes. The full support chart, recruitment requirements and battle bonuses remain open. Source 12 ↗
