Premise
The Dagdan Empire is described as a land that prospered under the rule of gods for 1,500 years. Its capital, Dagsion, hosts the Heroic Games in 1449 to honor the empire’s founding ruler, Dagda the Great. The tournament’s victor is promised one wish.
Five years later, in 1454, the return or resurrection of the demon god Balor threatens the empire with destruction. Sothis, identified in Nintendo’s material as the progenitor god, asks the player’s soul to save the world. The player works with Fortuna, a goddess associated with fate and time travel, to influence the four heroes’ earlier lives and alter the future.
Confirmed chronology
| Year | Confirmed events |
|---|---|
| Approximately 1,500 years before the presented era | The Dagdan Empire’s stated period of prosperity under divine rule begins; the reviewed material does not provide a precise founding-year conversion. |
| 1449 | Dagsion hosts the Heroic Games in honor of Dagda the Great, and Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda participate for their respective goals. |
| 1454 | Balor has returned or been resurrected, placing the empire and world in danger. |
| Time-intervention premise | Sothis tasks the player’s soul with salvation, while Fortuna’s power enables intervention in the heroes’ past fates. |
The exact sequencing of scenes between 1449 and 1454 has not been publicly documented in the reviewed material. It is not confirmed whether the player repeatedly moves between the two years, observes 1454 only as a framing sequence, or visits additional dates.

| Field | Known information |
|---|---|
| Name | Dagdan Empire. |

| Broader land or continent | Dagda. |
| Historical claim | The empire prospered under the rule of gods for 1,500 years. |
| Founding ruler | Dagda the Great. |

| Governmental detail | Beyond the imperial designation and references to divine rule, the reviewed official evidence does not identify the administrative structure, succession system, or imperial offices. Nintendo names Solel as the current ruler. |
The relationship between “Dagda” as a broader geographical designation and the “Dagdan Empire” as a political state should be kept explicit. Nintendo’s material describes exploration beyond Dagsion across Dagda while referring to the central state as the Dagdan Empire.

The Heroic Games
At a glance
| Field | Known information |
|---|---|
| Event | Heroic Games. |
| Location | Dagsion, capital of the Dagdan Empire. |
| Documented year | 1449. |
| Commemorative purpose | Held in honor of the founding king, Dagda the Great. |
| Prize | One wish for the winner. |
| Known entrants | Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda. |
| Gameplay function | The games supply the match framework around which battle preparation and city activities occur. |
Nintendo’s material presents the Heroic Games as both a political-cultural event and the central structure tying together four otherwise distinct motives. Cai seeks his father’s freedom; Dietrich seeks powerful opponents; Theodora acts for her faith and kingdom; and Leda pursues her father’s killer.
The reviewed material does not confirm the competition’s bracket, number of rounds, entry requirements, team-size rules, judging process, lethal or nonlethal status, prior champions, or exact wish-granting procedure.
Fate and time themes
The official premise treats fate as something that can be influenced through intervention in the past. Fortuna is associated with fate and time travel, and the player guides the four heroes in 1449 with the objective of preventing the catastrophic future of 1454. This makes causality, changed outcomes, and the relationship between individual motives and collective survival central confirmed themes.
“Fortune” is also mechanically associated with Fortuna’s Blessing, which allows the player to rewind a battle to an earlier point and reconsider decisions. The reviewed material does not identify a separate gameplay resource or system simply called “Fortune,” nor does it identify a mechanic called “Weave.” Editors should not infer such systems from the English subtitle alone.
Only-confirmed story structure
Nintendo describes the four hero stories as parallel paths that can be progressed alongside one another. Players switch between them at the Pale Raven’s perch in Dagsion. This supports an interwoven campaign structure, but it does not confirm four mutually exclusive routes.
Confirmed
- Four principal heroes have distinct paths or storylines.
- Those stories can be progressed in parallel.
- The player can change the active hero story at the Pale Raven’s perch.
- The Heroic Games provide a shared narrative and battle framework.
- Actions involving the heroes’ past fates are directed toward preventing the ruined future.
Not confirmed
- A permanent opening route choice.
- Route exclusivity.
- Route-specific endings.
- A “golden route,” secret route, or true ending.
- New Game Plus.
- Whether all four paths must be completed.
- Whether one hero can defeat or eliminate another.
- Whether the paths converge into one final campaign.
- Branch counts, chapter counts, or calendar duration.
- Whether choices create alternate timelines or overwrite one timeline.
Some press and secondary summaries describe an opening path choice or compare the structure with Three Houses. Nintendo’s supplied descriptions more specifically emphasize parallel progression and switching at the Pale Raven’s perch. The parallel-switching description is therefore the safer basis for wiki copy until the game itself establishes route rules.
Relationship to Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Press coverage reports that Fortune’s Weave shares a universe with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, citing Dagda and the appearance of Sothis as major links. Official promotional video summaries also characterize the game as returning to the world associated with the Fódlan titles.
However, the reviewed Nintendo game-page findings do not provide a precise chronological placement relative to Three Houses. Proposed prequel and sequel placements remain theories. Comparisons based on calendar numbers are not sufficient to establish that both settings use an identical calendar.
Editorially safe statements
- Sothis is part of the disclosed premise of Fortune’s Weave.
- Official promotional summaries associate the game with the world of the Fódlan titles.
- Press coverage identifies Dagda and Sothis as connections to Three Houses.
- The precise chronological relationship is not officially settled in the reviewed material.
Statements to avoid pending confirmation
- “The game takes place exactly 269 years after Three Houses.”
- “The game is definitively a prequel.”
- “The game is definitively a sequel.”
- “Every object resembling a Crest Stone is a confirmed Crest Stone.”
- “Every creature resembling a demonic beast has the same origin as those in Three Houses.”
- “The Church of Seiros has a confirmed institutional role.”
