Source & footage context
This is Reported interface evidence from a public launch-window guide. The values are not labeled as a Kingy test and should be rechecked against the installed retail build before being treated as universal. The frame shows a Buy menu with Exam Licenses: Beginner License stock 5 at cost 300 and Specialty License stock 3 at cost 500. The on-screen description identifies the Specialty License as a temple-issued license for the mid-level specialty-class certification exam. Launch-window IGN guide; platform and retail build are not stated in the video. Reviewed 2026-09-17. This is Reported public footage, not a Kingy firsthand test; keep the written article's build boundary visible.

My class is unavailable, or the exam chance is low
Check three things separately: the tier's availability, the appropriate license, and the unit's skill ranks. A locked tier cannot be solved merely by buying another license. An available exam is not a guaranteed pass.
- Find the intended class in the tables below and compare the tier gate with your progress.
- Inspect the exam's displayed skill requirements and success chance in your own game. Conflicting class records are called out below.
- If the class is available but the chance is poor, decide whether to train the missing skill before risking a license. No minimum chance is prescribed here.
- Check the new class's weapon access and role before spending your remaining money on equipment.
Nintendo's developer interview confirms skill-based certification and visible growth rates. Growth rates help compare development options; they do not guarantee a particular next level-up. Nintendo interview ↗
Save a class plan and compare your supplies. The planner preserves missing values instead of treating unrecorded costs as zero.
Pick a tier, then check the exam
Class access, skill ranks and passing an exam are separate checks. The records below summarize launch reporting checked September 19, 2026. A listed skill rank is an exam target, not a guarantee of success; read the displayed probability before using a license.
Tier gates
| Tier | Reported unlock | Ideal level |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | Story progression; Beginner License | 5 |
| Specialty | Renown 4; Specialty License | 20 |
| Advanced | Renown 8; Advanced License; some quest unlocks | 35 |
| Master | Part III; Master License; some quest unlocks | 45 |
| Divine | Late-game special items; 100% pass chance | No ideal level |
Ideal levels are recommendations rather than hard level requirements. Divine classes allow one active holder per class. Pocket Tactics’ class guide ↗

Advanced index

| Guardian | Infantry |
| Ovate | Infantry |
| Shido | Infantry |

These 13 entries have a tier and movement type in Pocket Tactics ↗. They do not form a complete Advanced tree.
Additional unlocks and conflicting records
The Polygon reproduction ↗ also lists Blacksmith, Dancer and Ranger as Advanced. Dancer follows Leda’s “Great Dancer’s Successor” request in Chapter 9. Blacksmith is tied to Dietrich, Renown 8 and a level-one relationship with Smyrnos.
War Monk’s tier is disputed: Pocket Tactics places it in Advanced; a ResetEra class list ↗ places it in Master. Do not buy a license on that record alone. The guides also disagree on Caladrius/Caldarius spelling. Exact movement distances, complete eligibility, mastery effects and growth rates remain unverified here.
Later classes contain spoilers
The same forum list reports these Master names: Swordmaster, High Savant, Battlemaster, War Monk, Bow Adept, Bow Knight, Shadow Seeker, Sentinel, Castle Knight, Orichaldia, Great Knight, Celestial Trooper, Bau Lord, Druid, Wiseman and Valkyrium. It also reports eight Divine names: The Blade, The Aspara, The Eternal, The Godhand, The Calamity, The Trident, The Cavalier and The Avatar.
Those are community-reported names, not completed exam records. This page does not yet establish their individual requirements or claim an exhaustive class total. Community source ↗
