The boss is dead. Why am I still stuck?
Check what you picked up, which NPC requested it, and whether a new radar marker appeared. Do not sell a named quest trophy while trying to make room. Revisit the requesting NPC before assuming the save is broken.

Before a Bean attempt
The Steam speedrun guide recommends rehearsing a completed run and starting a separate timed attempt. Its timing claim and explosive route are player guidance, not a Kingy-verified sub-hour route.
Patch 1.0.5 fixed travel to islands before they were unlocked. An old video skipping these hand-ins does not establish a current route.
