Which lure do you need?

The 1.1.0 Islet announcement adds bait and creatures without naming a full catch pool. The 1.1.2 note reports fixing Tench spawning from the new bait and increasing that bait’s spawn on the new mini island from two to three.

The 1.1.3 note says Fishipedia displays the bait name after you have killed a fish once. Use that in-game clue for recorded fish; it does not solve an unseen entry or validate older static catch percentages.

Corpus’s build-25127368 catalog places Beginner Lure shops on Forest, Desert, Rocks and Volcano (islands 2–5). This differs from the older NerdsChalk island-1 description; follow the shop prompt in your save.

Corpus’s 1.0.12 reference lists Beginner Boss Lure on Forest, Desert, Rocks and Volcano. Its two targets are Sunfish and The Old Pike; ordinary Pike is a different journal entry.

If the required island is locked, follow Island unlocks and hand-ins before shopping. Shop location identifies where to obtain the bait; it does not establish an island-exclusive fishing pool. Prices, stock and exact vendor positions still need confirmation in your save.

NerdsChalk lists Cod and Pike among Beginner catches; Seahorse and Needlefish under Standard; Red Snapper and Eel under Professional; and Blobfish and Anglerfish under Scientific. These are examples, not an exhaustive audited pool.

Its mini-boss list pairs Beginner Boss Lure with Sunfish/Gammelgäddan, Standard Boss Lure with Blue Shark, Professional Boss Lure with Tuna, and Scientific Boss Lure with Goblin Shark.

Follow the NPC hand-in before trying random shop lures against a story gate. The progression guide lists the Empty Beer Can, Modified Leech, Carrot and the Tuna-to-Albatross sequence. Preserve a quest item until you understand its use.

Read the catch’s displayed identity and special label before selling it. For the Desert quest, an endangered creature is the trade the swimmer asks for; do not assume a rainbow Drip label means the same thing.

Check the exact lure name, active encounter and island first. The inspected lure article contains inconsistent repeated tables, so this page does not promise exact odds or a complete pool. Record your version and submit a sourced correction if a listed example differs.

Corpus’s independently extracted 1.0.12 reference says purchased lure selection uses the lure’s weighted list without filtering by island. Islands still matter for reaching shops, quest rewards and authored encounters.

The same reference reports that an active boss can block another dedicated boss bait or substitute a default result in a mixed pool. Finish the active encounter before spending another boss lure.

Do not assume the newest lure is best for every missing entry. Start with the target, compare all listed lure associations, then use the cheapest available pool that still includes it.
