Pistol or shotgun?
Our advice: buy for the job in front of you. If you want to practice ranged handling now, evaluate the available pistol. If your aim is a boss fight, compare the shotgun and upgrade costs first. This is a purchase checklist, not a tested tier list.
Tpose Gaming recommends saving for the Shotgun; the unofficial Pistol reference confirms an earlier firearm option at Forest. That establishes choices, not a universally best purchase.
