Before you start
- A tested landing and fallback from the Deep North foothold guide.
- A rested combat kit, durable light source, spare food and enough free inventory space for cores and moulds.
- Fifteen Iron and forty Stone stored at the production site if you want to build both pieces immediately after returning. Their current researched costs are listed below.
Search villages, then verify the entrance
- Search newly generated Deep North for an abandoned village and mark it before entering.
- Inspect the largest multi-storey building for a large opening in the floor. Several current guides report this entrance pattern; it is a search method, not a promise that every village has the same layout.
- Confirm that the transition identifies Winding Tunnels in your current game. Some launch coverage called them Hidden Tunnels; this edition uses Iron Gate’s official name.
- Leave a marked exterior recovery point and enter with room in your inventory rather than moving the entire foothold to an unconfirmed dungeon.

Clear with a retraceable pattern
- Choose one direction at each junction, clear enemies before harvesting and mark exhausted branches with a repeatable dropped-item or building-piece convention where the dungeon permits it.
- Look overhead and along walls for blue Frostcores. Do not leave after the first one if you intend to build both production pieces.
- Inspect floors and wall edges for flat dark moulds. Break wooden debris only after the room is safe, then check the newly exposed floor again.
- Prioritize the Mould: Intricate Key, but keep equipment moulds too. If the needed mould does not appear, finish the safe branches and search another village rather than claiming a guaranteed drop.
- Exit on the known route, store the haul and repair before a second run. A cleared path is more valuable than one overloaded death run.

Build the production pair at a recoverable base
The official notes confirm both pieces. PC Gamer, Postmode and redfreshet agree on the construction costs below. These are current 1.0 researched references, not a local installed-build extraction; check the Hammer preview before consuming materials.
- Carry Ice to reveal or confirm the Frigid Kiln in the current build menu, and carry Frostcores to confirm both pieces.
- Place the Frigid Kiln and Frost Foundry where their inputs and outputs remain reachable. Do not bury either in a decorative enclosure until one batch completes.
- Feed Ice to the Frigid Kiln and confirm that it produces Liquid Frost. Keep the first output beside the Frost Foundry instead of spending it on optional crafts.
| Make | Materials per craft | Station |
|---|---|---|
| 1 × Frigid Kiln · 1.0 researched | 10 Frostcore + 20 Stone + 5 Ice | Hammer; current placement menu |
| 1 × Frost Foundry · 1.0 researched | 10 Frostcore + 15 Iron + 20 Stone | Hammer; current placement menu |

You are ready when…
0 of 3 ready
Saved in this browserWhen something goes wrong
I cannot find a tunnel under the village.
Check the largest buildings and their floors, then move to another village in newly generated terrain. The observed entrance pattern is common, not guaranteed for every ruin.
I found Frostcores but no key mould.
Clear safe branches, break wooden debris and recheck the exposed floor. If the dungeon is exhausted, mark it and search another village; no fixed mould count per tunnel is promised here.
The production piece is still missing from my Hammer.
Carry the listed ingredients yourself, especially Frostcore and Ice, then inspect the current build categories. Nearby chest contents do not count as discovered inventory.
