Cargo not loading: compatibility and queue checks

The short answer

Check cargo compatibility before buying more vehicles. Urban Games describes four cargo categories and says specialized vehicles cannot carry other categories. For a queue that is loading slowly, inspect the loading facility instead. These are developer-described checks; the September 29 retail build has not been tested here.

Before you start

  • Identify the cargo, selected vehicle and loading location.
  • Use the released game’s tooltips to confirm compatibility; no exact menu sequence is verified here.

Match the cargo category

The 2025 developer blog describes universal vehicles as flexible and specialized transporters as faster for their category. A faster incompatible vehicle cannot solve a missing load.

Separate a missing load from a slow queue

If cargo waits at a transfer warehouse, use the separate warehouse and station checks in the fish-delivery guide.

  1. Inspect origin stock and the chosen destination; TF3 cargo waits at its origin rather than acquiring a destination automatically.
  2. For a slow queue, check whether vehicles use the industry’s integrated dock. Urban Games describes it as the slowest loading option.
  3. Check the catchment area before planning an additional station. Specialized platforms trade flexibility, cost, noise and emissions for speed.

Canning Factory inputs and stalled production

GameWatcher's September 27 file analysis lists the Canning Factory recipe as 2 Fish OR 2 Meat, plus 1 Sheet Metal, producing 2 Canned Food per cycle. Fish and meat are alternatives; either still needs the metal input. The report describes installed game files before public release. Kingy has not reproduced the recipe in play.

  1. Compare the installed factory's recipe with that reported combination before building another supply line.
  2. Inspect input stock separately from cargo still aboard a vehicle. If Sheet Metal is missing, check that delivery first.
  3. Observe input consumption and finished output together. If nothing changes, capture the factory panel, build and route settings before diagnosing a bug.

What a successful check must show

On a released build, record one vehicle arriving empty, taking the intended cargo and completing delivery. Capture its load and both endpoints. If it stays empty, save the tooltips and route settings; a category check alone is not proof of a bug or a working route. No exact speed, queue capacity or profit improvement is established here.
