The short answer
Urban Games representative Sam says cargo payment is based on cargo type. If delivery stays within that cargo type's time limit, payment is the same regardless of distance. This is an official-site explanation, not a complete published formula or Kingy measurement.
Before you start
- Separate delivery revenue from construction, vehicle and maintenance costs.
- Record cargo type, amount, deadline, route and game version when testing.
On-time distance does not change the stated payment
A player asked whether a long route around a city or mountain would pay differently from a short direct route. Sam's September 11 reply says the payment is the same when both deliveries use the same cargo type and meet its time limit.

Equal payment does not mean equal profit
A longer route can require more vehicles, fuel or maintenance, and larger infrastructure. A tunnel can cost more to build while shortening travel. The source answers payment, not net profit, so compare all route costs before choosing a detour or shortcut.

Evidence and limits
Native frames show warehouse and station configuration separately. The timer and loading effects come from the official narration; no exact speed, cost or town-rating improvement is established here.

For fish waiting at a transfer warehouse, the September 10 official demonstration makes two separate upgrades. Its narration says Goods-specialized storage stops the delivery timer while fish waits there; a specialized station platform then loads fish faster. This is prerelease footage with no build number shown.
- Select the warehouse holding the fish and open Configure. The example opens Namsskogan Warehouse, then changes its storage module to the Goods specialization at 2:21–2:25.
- Select the adjoining station separately and open Configure. At 2:30–2:36, Upper Namsskogan Station receives a specialized loading platform for the fish route. Changing the warehouse alone does not perform this second upgrade.
- Before copying the platform change, check which other cargo categories use that station. The narrator warns of higher maintenance and slower loading for other categories, including bulk and liquid.

The late-delivery and rate details remain open
The payment reply does not publish exact prices, cargo quantities, difficulty modifiers, passenger fares or a late-delivery revenue penalty. The warehouse demonstration explains one way to pause waiting time, but does not establish a complete transfer-deadline formula. Do not turn these examples into a complete calculator.
After launch, test the same cargo type and amount on two on-time routes, then test a late delivery separately. Capture the displayed revenue and costs with version and difficulty settings.

Plan for origin storage and chosen destinations
Urban Games says cargo waits at its origin until the player provides transport and chooses a destination. Announced systems include industry docks, specialized loading facilities and warehouses. These descriptions help plan a test; they do not verify the final retail interface or throughput values.
