Confirmed battle foundations
The standard format is turn-based and grid-based. Nintendo's demonstration shows alternating sides, blue movement range and red attack range. Terrain, positioning, distance, class and weapon matchup all affect decisions. Spears are described as effective against cavalry and magic against heavily armored units. Source 12 ↗
Public battle footage
Official / Observed: Nintendo Treehouse's public battle demonstration shows a map, unit markers and movement/attack presentation at 0:45–1:45 ↗. Reported / Observed: Wilekko's opening footage shows named weapon forecasts at 14:45–15:30 ↗ and 19:45–20:30 ↗. These are bounded UI records, not boss clears, universal formulas or controlled Kingy retail tests.
Practical rule
Use Combat & preparation for the general loop, Blaze Arts & Burst for hero ability risk and Dungeons & Clashes for the separate dungeon format. A video can illustrate a turn or route, but it cannot prove a universal clear strategy without build, difficulty and map context.
