The short answer
You can try recent weapon unlocks in the Gap before leaving. Exchange Recents refunds those recent choices in the creator demonstration. A full respec later uses a reset item. Check which action the menu offers before confirming.

Try a weapon, then keep or exchange it
This sequence follows Boomstick Gaming’s 2:24–3:16 demonstration. It is not a promise that every old purchase can be refunded for free.
- Enter the Gap outside combat and open the weapon upgrades.
- Inspect an available unlock and its material cost.
- Try the resulting weapon or finisher in the practice arena.
- Use Exchange Recents to undo a recent unlock you do not want. Check the menu before leaving the Gap; departure commits the purchases.
Compare a recent unlock in the arena, then inspect Exchange Recents before committing.

Changing an established build
IGN shows reset items among vendor purchases. Boomstick Gaming also reports them among rewards from hostile vending machines. Their demonstrations support checking these routes when you want a full reset; they do not establish a fixed drop rate or a guaranteed item from every machine.
Before confirming a reset, read the displayed scope and take a note of the loadout you want to rebuild. Costs and reset behaviour should be checked in your own version.

Why an unused weapon upgrade can still matter
Ebontis’s upgrade tree shows weapon nodes contributing to overall Aberrant Strength, including branches outside the currently equipped form. Compare the contribution and cost on the node rather than assuming an unused form has no value.
| Term | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Aberrant Strength | The weapon tree’s overall strength figure and each node’s contribution. |
| Build Power | Loadout → Stats & Effects; a broader comparison with enemy levels. |
| Power | The resource used by combat abilities. |
| Source and materials | The costs shown for the specific purchase. |
Inspect the loadout’s Stats & Effects panel before choosing your next upgrade.

Pause before recycling an Artifact
Ebontis warns that recycling an Artifact in his run removed it, and he could not undo the decision through the normal menu. Keep an Artifact if you might use it in another build. This is a creator’s report; reacquisition and New Game Plus exceptions are not established here.
