The short answer
Plan for status pressure before entering the fight. Remove or discard Wither when possible, get lasting damage online early, and account for the Block Aeonglass gains on Ebb.
Before you start
- Main 0.107.1. Beta values and mods may differ.
- Read the intent and Wither tooltip in your fight; this page does not assume a universal Ascension or co-op damage number.
Use the current Ebb mechanic
Aeonglass replaced Doormaker on Main. The 0.107.0 changes merged into that release removed Ebb’s debuff and moved the boss’s Block gain onto its single-hit Ebb move. Advice about preparing for the old Ebb stat penalty is obsolete.

Choose the answer your deck can support
| Character | Useful plan | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Ironclad | Exhaust unwanted statuses and build Strength. | Keep enough defense while spending cards on cleanup. |
| Silent | Use active discard; Poison can keep damage moving. | Long Shiv chains need a way to handle additional statuses. |
| Defect | Use Orb output to reduce dependence on repeated card plays. | An Orb plan still needs enough defense to get established. |
| Regent | Build toward high-value Star turns. | Check Ebb’s Block before spending the payoff. |
| Necrobinder | Let Osty and Doom contribute while managing the hand. | Check when damage resolves before relying on it to prevent an attack. |

Check the turn before committing
- Read incoming damage and your available defense.
- Inspect the status pressure and decide which cards must be cleared.
- Compare the useful damage from a short sequence with the cost of extra plays.
- Recheck the boss’s Block, remaining Energy and displayed intent before ending.

Work backward from the loss
Kingy review worksheet: record the turn where the plan stopped working. Was defense absent, unaffordable, or buried? Did damage fail to scale, or did statuses consume the hand? Choose the next draft or shop purchase to address that specific failure. A strong card in isolation may not solve it.
Keep the branch, Ascension, character and party size with that note. Without those details, comparing damage numbers from another run can mislead.
