Activate before exploring widely
Inside the Temple, stairs behind the altar lead toward the guarded portal. Beyond it, the totem activates collection. Previous encounters are not retroactively recorded. Look for the discovery notification when approaching a new creature.

If Memories vanished after leaving
Hotfix 0.6.2 fixes discoveries lost when exiting the game or stopping a server. Update to the current stable build before testing that failure again. Keep discovery and restoration separate: the planner cannot know what your totem has received.
