The short answer
Mark your base, cave entrances and travel destinations on your own map. Name each marker by its purpose and record the world and generator when sharing a route.
Before you start
- Custom map markers are available in stable builds.
- World generation and mods can change terrain and encounters.
Make the map useful for the next trip
Custom markers support names, icons and colours and can be shared in multiplayer. Map and compass visibility have separate settings. If a marker seems absent, inspect those settings before recreating it.

Distinguish V1, V2 and previews
The official world-generation explanation distinguishes launch Exploration worlds using V1 from V2 work and Gateway fragments. It describes the migration direction, not a promise that every world contains an identical cave at an identical position.
Update 7’s Chapter 1 additions are in the pre-release branch at this review date. A preview route involving those additions is not automatically valid in stable 0.6.5.
A useful route note
Kingy route-note format: world name and seed, game build, generator if known, active mods, start landmark, destination and return route. Include the tool or equipment gate. For a cave, mark the entrance separately from the underground resource.
This edition uses landmark guidance and saved milestones. A verified map export and recorded resource circuits are listed on the coverage page.
