Windrose first copper ingot: mining, stations and recipe checks

Mine ore before looking for the refining stations

No fixed cave coordinates, guaranteed haul, safe-enemy claim or respawn timer is established here. Use the current map and interaction prompt.

1. Craft a Stone Pickaxe at the Workbench; Method reports 3 Wood and 3 Stone.
2. Look for the Copper Deposit cave on your starting island. Prima describes an initially undiscovered map marker and a narrow interactable entrance.
3. Inside, mine copper with the pickaxe. If Waste Rocks block the route, Prima advises breaking through them to reach more deposits.
4. Check your inventory and Discovery entry before returning to build. PC Gamer maps Copper Ore discovery to the Charcoal Kiln and Smelting Furnace unlocks.

Check outdoor operation and Bonfire range

Prima places the stations under Crafting & Utilities → Refining in the build menu. Method's two inspected recipe screenshots specify outdoor operation and Bonfire range. Check those conditions before putting either station under a roof.

Make fuel, then run one ingot as a check

Destructoid's February 22 pre-Early-Access guide reports 6 ore per ingot. Method's kiln text also says 20 Wood although its screenshot shows 25. These conflicts are why this guide labels historical amounts rather than treating every published table as current.

1. Use Wood in the Charcoal Kiln and collect the Charcoal.
2. Open the Smelting Furnace and inspect the Copper Ingot recipe. The April Prima and Method guides report 4 Copper Ore plus 1 Charcoal for one ingot.
3. Supply the amounts displayed by your build, queue one craft and collect the output.
4. Confirm the inventory item and current tutorial objective before spending the remaining ore.

If the station or quest still will not progress

Record which stage failed: discovery absent, recipe missing, placement rejected, production blocked or quest credit missing. Keep the exact message and a screenshot of the station panel. These are different observations and may need different fixes.

For placement, compare the current panel with the outdoor/range conditions above. For a missing recipe, retain the Discovery entry and inventory state. A co-op partner's craft is not evidence that your own tutorial objective has advanced; check each player's journal.

Kingy has not verified current queue controls, roof detection, Bonfire distance, shared discovery/quest credit, crafting from nearby chests or resource respawn. Do not delete a save to resolve an untested crafting issue.
