The short answer
The developer describes destructible objects with endurance based on size and material. An attack through a breakable obstruction can split damage between it and an enemy. Gunpowder crates explode when destroyed, damaging units in their circular reach. Exact thresholds and blast radii are not verified here.
An obstacle can change the attack result
The March 2025 post describes attacking enemies through breakable barriers when they are in line of sight, with damage distributed between target and obstruction. That is a reason to inspect cover before expecting an unobstructed damage result. It does not mean every prop is destructible.

Check both sides of an explosive object
The developer associates gunpowder crates with East Nippon Company areas and says they remain inert until their destruction threshold is reached. Do not rely on a single attack always triggering an explosion.
- Identify whether the object is a gunpowder crate or ordinary scenery.
- Inspect nearby allies as well as enemies.
- Check the available attack and any blast information exposed by the current UI.
- Move endangered allies away before testing a destructive hit.
- After the action, inspect the remaining obstacle and affected units.

Reassess the field after destruction
If cover disappears or an enemy moves, inspect the new lines and ranges before the next action. A clear shot can expose an ally as well as open a target. Exact encounter solutions need a recorded sequence with the same party, difficulty and build.
