Dressmaker patterns: find pieces and plan fabrics

Separate a new pattern from a hard-to-find one

Before assuming a piece is locked, check active filters. Steam commenter lupinequeen13 describes filtering a design category by style. An incomplete catalog cannot tell you that an absent search result is an unavailable pattern.

Identify the piece before choosing its fabric

Ae3qe27u’s guide comment says hovering a pattern piece displays its name. The official game description confirms that panels can use different fabrics and that the sketchbook accepts color and fabric samples. Use those together to plan which panels share a material.

1. Sketch the intended color arrangement.
2. Compare the piece name with the panel you intend to cut.
3. Check the selected fabric before cutting that group of pieces.

Keep planned materials easy to find

Seerolz and Ae3qe27u describe adding materials to the sketchbook to pin them near the top of the selection list. Use this to keep the fabric for a planned panel close at hand. It does not assign that fabric to the correct piece automatically.

Use fabric names and tags together

The shop screenshot shows a material name, color and style tags alongside the brief. A fabric’s appearance alone does not tell you whether it meets a named requirement. Kingy has not published a complete fabric or pattern database because the launch inventory and unlock conditions have not been individually checked.
