Wild West Pioneers: reveal a Dust Creek quarry site and check Jamie’s quest

The short answer

The developer says blasting certain Dust Creek stones with dynamite reveals a stone-mine site. Start with the explosives expert available and the required supplies; finding Jamie alone may not complete that prerequisite. A September 28 hotfix reports a fix for Jamie not responding after loading a save, but does not establish that every expert-unlock problem is repaired.

Before you start

  • Use PC Early Access. The September 26–27 replies do not identify an exact installed build.
  • For the rock-clearing steps, have the expert available and dynamite in storage. The acquisition route, recipe and required quantity are not verified here.

If finding Jamie did not unlock the expert

On September 27, Goldi_Toplitz confirmed a quest bug and tentatively expected a fix. The September 28 notes then report a specific fix for Jamie sometimes not responding after a save loads. They do not name every objective or promise recovery for a save where finding Jamie failed to unlock the expert. Update, preserve the save, and check the exact objective and interaction again.

  1. Revisit his area and inspect the completion objectives displayed at the top. A developer suggested checking for an unfinished task, but did not specify a guaranteed puzzle solution.
  2. If the objectives appear complete and the expert remains unavailable, preserve the save and record the quest state before retrying.

With the expert available, inspect the rock itself

Expected result: a resource site becomes visible. If no action appears or the quarry remains unavailable, capture the rock, tooltip, expert status, supplies, mining view and build. Kingy has not performed the interaction.

  1. In Dust Creek, hover over candidate rocks. A player answer describes an eligible rock highlighting and exposing a demolition option; do not assume every large decorative rock qualifies.
  2. Select an eligible rock and inspect the available action and requirements before confirming. After it is cleared, inspect the revealed site for the stone-mine placement option.
  3. Read the current building unlock, cost and placement requirements. A revealed site alone does not establish that construction or production is ready.
