Wild West Pioneers: buy iron without sending scouts again

The short answer

After entering the Shrubby Glade trader's location, open trade through the map or the scale icon at the bottom left. A developer says this trader stocks iron without another scout trip. The September 30 patch says traders now unlock on entering their location and restock 10% of their maximum resources every 24 hours. Kingy has not tested the updated trade screen.

Before you start

  • Use the released PC Early Access game with the applicable September 30 update. The patch does not give a numeric build.
  • Enter the trader's location first. This guide does not establish how to recover a save that cannot reach it.

Open the existing trader

The expected result is access to an iron purchase without another scout trip. The publisher specifies a 10% maximum-stock restock every 24 hours; the actual stock, price, delivery timing and recipe quantities still need an in-game check. The same patch removes iron ore from canned-food recipes, so do not buy iron for that older recipe without checking the current build.

  1. Open the map and access the unlocked trader, or use the bottom-left scale icon.
  2. Inspect the iron offer, your money and the displayed transaction total. Choose only the quantity your current production plan requires.
  3. Confirm the purchase, then check the resulting iron and currency totals before starting production.

If trading is unavailable

Record whether the trader is absent, present but inaccessible, or open with a rejected transaction. Capture the map discovery state, menu, error text and build; those are different failure points.

The reply does not establish a universal canned-food softlock recovery or a reduced scouting cost. Preserve the save before experimenting with further expeditions or restarting.
