How to recover a stuck decoy or other placed gear

Use Collect on the Hunting Map to return nearby placed equipment to Storage.

The short answer

Move within 50 metres of the placed item, select its marker on the Hunting Map and choose Collect. The item returns to Storage. This recovery action was added in 0.3.2.204916.

Retrieve the item

Use the map action when a decoy or another placed item ends up somewhere difficult to reach. The developer documents this workflow; Kingy has not independently reproduced it.

  1. Approach to within 50 metres of the placed item.
  2. Open the Hunting Map and select the item’s marker.
  3. Choose Collect.
  4. Open Storage to find the returned equipment.

Collected equipment goes to Storage. The developer does not describe this action as equipping the item directly into your carried loadout, so look in Storage before treating it as missing.

If Collect is unavailable

Check that you are within the documented 50-metre range and have selected the placed equipment’s own marker. The command was introduced in 0.3.2.204916, so earlier builds do not have this documented recovery route. The patch does not specify every excluded item or a multiplayer ownership rule.
