The short answer
The demo’s stage-one sprinkler waters four adjacent tiles when morning begins. The stage-two card expands that to eight and describes a wider water attack. Place it where its highlighted coverage reaches crops; nearby compatible plants and towers can also produce symbiosis crystals.

Evidence and limits
Visually reviewed the Upgrading prompt at 3:24, the flower’s next-stage menu at 3:31, the completed-wave Symbiosis prompt and crystals at 3:59, power cards at 4:09, and revolving blades around Sprout at 4:14. The reviewed source is a tutorial demonstration, not a controlled test of a synergy recipe. Recording date unknown. No exact adjacency recipe, crystal drop rate, upgrade price or optimal layout is established here. The tutorial may script its rewards and starting resources. This is a short tutorial wave, not proof of a reliable first-night strategy in Normal difficulty. Later waves, bosses, a failed-defense recovery plan and launch-build balance remain unverified.

The demo tutorial after planting, harvesting, stocking the haul and placing its sprinkler. This follows the prepared tutorial layout; it is not a tested build for a normal run.
- The Upgrading panel directs you to the sprinkler and power flower. Approach each highlighted plant or structure and choose the offered next stage. Watering a plant and buying its next stage are separate actions.
- After upgrading, follow the prompt to start the night. Equip your weapon and attack the approaching raccoons while the flower fires. Keep the crop haul stocked; the recorded demonstration finishes this short tutorial wave.
- The Symbiosis panel explains that some adjacent plants and towers can produce crystals. In this prepared garden, light-blue crystals appear beside the plants. Walk over them to collect them.
- Collecting the crystals leads to a choice of power cards. The creator selects revolving blades, which then appear around Sprout. Read the choices in your run before selecting; this example does not establish which power is best.

The tutorial places the sprinkler between the strawberries. Its stage-one card shows four adjacent watering tiles and says its night spray slightly pushes enemies. The watering effect happens when morning begins, so placing a sprinkler is not a reason to skip the tutorial’s earlier manual watering step.
| Observed card | Watering effect | Night effect |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 of 3 | Four adjacent tiles when morning begins | Water slightly pushes enemies |
| Stage 2 of 3 | Eight adjacent tiles when morning begins | Wider spray range |

A locked upgrade is not a misplaced tower
At 4:20 the sprinkler is already stage two, and the next prompt reads “Upgrade Locked.” Repeatedly trying the same prompt is not evidence that placement failed. Read the current stage and lock message before spending more resources.
This reviewed tutorial interval does not establish the unlock quest or price for stage three. Follow your current shop or quest requirements; Kingy has not verified a shortcut around them.

At 5:07 the tutorial explains that certain neighboring plants and towers can spawn symbiosis crystals that grant powers. Blue crystals are visible on the strawberries around the sprinkler. This supports the tutorial example, not a rule that every adjacent pair works.
If a different layout produces no crystal, first compare the actual plant and tower combination with a demonstrated one. The inspected footage does not establish every valid pair, spawn interval or skill outcome.

Retail 1.0.1 context
Patch 1.0.1 fixes missing cosmetics and an inventory block involving a charging wand and the watering can. The steps above remain observations from demo footage; this patch does not verify retail prices, unlock conditions or tower values.
