The short answer
If Rehaunted's first-launch shader screen stays at 0%, install the available update and use the option to continue to the Main Menu described in Cauchemar's Update 01. The September 22 official-feed check also covers the later laundry-room fix, paused Haunting tutorial and tool shortcuts. Kingy has not tested the shader option or recovery of an already-stuck save.
Current state and last verified date
Rehaunted is Cauchemar’s single-player game on Steam (app 4538140), released September 14, 2026. The official announcement feed was checked September 22. Update 06, dated September 17, is the newest announcement returned by that feed.
Cauchemar's "Rehaunted is OUT NOW!" announcement confirms that the game is available to play. That confirms public availability, not a Kingy playtest of the route, clues or performance.

First-launch shader screen stuck at 0%?
Cauchemar's September 14 Update 01 says a shader screen stuck at 0% can be bypassed to continue directly to the Main Menu. The developer says this screen appears only on first launch.
Let Steam finish any available update, then use the continue-to-Main-Menu option if it appears. The announcement gives no exact button label or key. If the option is absent or launch still fails, record the installed build and the screen you see for a bug report. Kingy has not tested this path or a shader-cache workaround.

Stuck in the laundry room after the upstairs bathroom event?
Update 04, published September 15, reports a fix for an event that could leave players trapped in the laundry room. The developer also reports fixing several less common progression blockers.
Kingy recommendation: check that Steam has finished updating before retrying the affected sequence. If it still blocks progress, record the installed build and the last interaction for a bug report. Preserve an existing save before any restart or replacement. The note does not describe a repair prompt or promise that an already affected save will recover; Kingy has not tested that case.

Which later update addresses the problem?
Use the update labels to identify the notes. They do not establish a game version called 1.0.6 or a save-repair feature. FOV options were described as work in progress in Update 05; these inspected notes do not confirm their release.
| Problem or feature | Developer-reported change | Date |
|---|---|---|
| UV light fails during the tutorial; flashlight disappears after flickering | Update 03 reports fixes for both issues. | September 15 |
| Not enough time to read the first Haunting tutorial | Update 05 pauses play while those instructions are displayed. | September 16 |
| Switching detective tools through the wheel is cumbersome | Update 06 adds direct tool shortcuts, rebindable in Controls. | September 17 |
| Quick Access Wheel remains on screen; multiple objects appear in hand | Update 06 reports fixes for these tool-interface bugs. | September 17 |

Revisions and corrections
This page records the September 14 launch and the official updates through September 17 returned by the September 22 feed check. Revisit the affected answers when new developer notes change them.
The release date and availability are sourced; the walkthrough, optional evidence, codes, endings and launch-build performance still need direct verification.
