Cauchemar reports roughly 30–40 fps across the game on Steam Deck at Medium/High settings with upscaling and frame generation enabled. Kingy has not reproduced that result.
Keep the conditions with the number
The announcement specifically requires FSR or Intel XeSS and frame generation for its reported result. A frame-generated figure should not be described as native rendering performance. It also says lower settings can run faster without providing an independently reproducible benchmark here.

What to record in your own test
Use the same scene when comparing presets and record resolution, upscaler, frame generation, frame cap and graphics quality. Note visual artefacts and control responsiveness as well as the displayed frame rate. These are suggested comparison fields, not a verified best-settings recipe.

Launch footage may differ
The developer says visuals have changed since earlier trailers. Do not use a trailer frame or an older preview to promise final image quality. Steam Deck verification status and performance in the release build need a separate launch check.
