The short answer
The reviewed official sources confirm equippable Charms plus outfits and skins, but they do not establish a wearable armor system. Keep Charms, cosmetic items and any later verified armor records separate.
Charms are equippable benefits
The PS5 demo listing describes Kubi Akari as a Charm that strengthens Musashi. The June preorder overview names the Lion Dog Charm as a buff and says the Deluxe Kit contains Charms the protagonist can equip.
Those descriptions establish an equipment category. They do not provide slots, stacking rules, values, upgrade paths or a complete Charm list.

Outfits and skins are described as appearance items
Capcom's edition description separates equippable Charms from an outfit and skins that change appearance. It does not call those items armor or attach defensive stats to them.

Armor remains an open question
The reviewed sources do not identify armor names, defensive slots, defense values, set bonuses or armor upgrades. Do not relabel a Charm, outfit or skin as armor without a current item screen or official description.
