Moonlighter 2 updates and progression fixes by platform

Check PC, PS5 and Switch 2 updates before repeating a blocked quest or unstable run.

The short answer

Check the installed update for your platform first. The September 10 PC hotfix corrected several progression blockers and added a DirectX 11/12 choice. Digital Sun separately confirmed PS5 rollout and told Switch 2 players how to manually check for version 1.0.43.3. If Hidden Treasure objectives remain incomplete on Switch 2 after updating, 11 bit studios says it is investigating that reported issue; its reply gives no confirmed save fix.

Manually check the Switch 2 update

Digital Sun says automatic detection can be delayed. If the version shown differs or the problem persists, record that exact version and symptom. The post does not establish a guaranteed performance improvement on every console or a save-reset fix.

  1. Highlight Moonlighter 2 on the Nintendo Switch 2 HOME Menu.
  2. Press the + Button.
  3. Choose Software Update, then Via the Internet.
  4. After the update check, compare the displayed version with the developer’s stated 1.0.43.3.

On PC, try the other graphics API for instability

This is the developer’s suggested diagnostic, not a benchmarked Kingy preset. No particular GPU or graphics API is promised to be faster.

  1. Install the current Steam update before comparing behavior.
  2. Use the available DirectX 11/DirectX 12 choice to try the other API if you experience crashes or poor performance.
  3. Repeat the same affected scene and note whether the result changes.

Hidden Treasure quests still stuck on Switch 2?

Several replies to Digital Sun's Switch 2 update post say Hidden Treasure objectives remained incomplete after the patch. The 11 bit studios account acknowledged the issue and said it was looking into it. These are reports within one discussion, not a measured failure rate or a developer-confirmed workaround.

Check the installed version using the HOME Menu steps above, keep the affected save, and record which objectives remain incomplete. The publisher's reply does not say to reset progress or promise that version 1.0.43.3 clears already affected quests. Player suggestions in the thread have not been verified by Kingy.

Check the affected quest after updating

The PC notes include a corrected Weapon Mastery quest marker, restored input in a later conversation, and a tutorial loading-screen fix when returning to Tresna. If one of those matches your problem, update and retry the affected action before following an old workaround.

If the block remains, keep the platform, exact version, quest name and last successful action together in your notes. A patch note reports a fix; it does not guarantee recovery of every previously affected save. Do not delete progress based on an unverified workaround.
