Before you start
- Use your Windows PC and record the current system information. This procedure reads status only; it does not change firmware, disk partitions, TPM contents or security keys.
Compare your PC with the launch specifications
Activision’s September 29 PC article lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM and 115 GB of SSD storage in its minimum tier; the recommended 90 FPS multiplayer High-settings tier lists Windows 11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM and the same 115 GB SSD requirement. Each tier also names specific CPUs, GPUs and video memory. Read the complete current table before deciding your PC qualifies; these abbreviated examples are not a compatibility test.
The published tiers require broadband and DirectX 12 compatibility. Activision says specifications are valid for launch but may change, and mandatory updates may need additional storage. Its recommended 90 FPS figure is a target for the specified multiplayer settings, not a frame-rate guarantee for your machine or other modes.

Use the retail requirement and the wizard’s named scope separately
Activision’s MW4 PC launch article requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot and allows additional security measures. Reading those two statuses alone does not establish the separately published CPU, GPU, memory, storage or performance requirements.
The September 16 security article names Modern Warfare 4 Beta, Black Ops 7 and Warzone in its Secure Attestation Wizard results. Its “System compliant” label concerns those named security requirements. A reported pass is not proof that retail MW4 launches, that an account has access, or that frame rate will be acceptable. Kingy has not downloaded or run the wizard; use Activision’s current official article if you choose to review it.

Read both TPM readiness and Specification Version
Readiness alone is insufficient: Microsoft explicitly instructs you to check Specification Version even when the TPM is ready. “Compatible TPM cannot be found” can mean disabled TPM or unsupported hardware; it does not identify which cause applies to your PC.
- Press Windows key + R, type tpm.msc and press Enter.
- Read Status. The expected ready message is “The TPM is ready for use”.
- Under TPM Manufacturer Information, read Specification Version and record whether it is 2.0.
- Save both values. If a field is missing or you have not checked it, record it as unknown.
| Observed result | Interpretation for this check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Ready; Specification Version 2.0 | Matches the advertised TPM version check | Continue to Secure Boot and the remaining game requirements |
| Ready; older or unknown version | TPM 2.0 requirement is not confirmed | Record the version or missing field for manufacturer support |
| Compatible TPM cannot be found | Disabled or unsupported hardware remains unresolved | Identify your PC/motherboard model and use its official support |

Read BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State in Windows
A TPM match does not substitute for Secure Boot. Keep both observations with your Windows version and PC/motherboard model so support can address the actual configuration.
- Press Windows key + R, type msinfo32 and press Enter.
- In System Information, read BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State; use its search if needed.
- Record the expected pair UEFI and On, or the exact different values shown.
| Observed fields | What is established | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| BIOS Mode UEFI; Secure Boot State On | Matches the published status check | Compare the rest of the current PC requirements separately |
| Secure Boot State Off | Secure Boot is not enabled in the reported status | Use model-specific manufacturer support for configuration guidance |
| Secure Boot State Unsupported | Support/configuration is unresolved for this machine | Check the exact motherboard’s documentation with the manufacturer |
| BIOS Mode Legacy, or a missing field | The required UEFI/On pair is not established | Record the fields and ask the manufacturer about the applicable configuration |

Route a mismatch using the exact machine and error
Activision’s article links PC and motherboard manufacturer support and notes that firmware interfaces vary. A prebuilt-PC owner can start with that PC maker; a custom-PC owner can start with the exact motherboard model. Use those linked official resources with your recorded TPM version, BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State.
The article describes UEFI and GPT dependencies. This guide gives no universal boot-mode switch, disk conversion, TPM clearing, key deletion or firmware-update recipe. If the recorded state needs a change, use manufacturer instructions for that model or qualified assistance; this read-only check ends at the handoff.
If status appears to match but an applicable game or wizard still reports an error, retain its exact wording and named game/build scope. Use Activision support for the game or attestation result and the manufacturer for model-specific firmware questions. Repeating a purchase or declaring “all requirements passed” does not resolve that discrepancy.
