Minecraft Dungeons II also supports solo play. Mojang confirms matchmaking and party codes, so a group does not have to be limited to a fixed friends list.

Accounts and online subscriptions
Steam lists a required Microsoft account. Mojang’s launch terms say console online co-op needs a platform-specific online subscription; PlayStation explicitly lists PS Plus. Cross-play does not establish cross-save or shared progression.

Inventory and catching up
Xbox Wire describes holding up on the D-pad to open a compact inventory so couch players can manage items simultaneously. Mojang also describes teleporting to a nearby friend. Exact remapped controls and teleport restrictions need release verification.
