Trailer 1 was released on December 4, 2023. The contemporaneous announcement introduced Leonida and Vice City and linked the original YouTube release.

Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025. Its original announcement carried the Jason-and-Lucia conspiracy premise and said the footage was captured on PlayStation 5.

Rockstar’s description calls Trailer 2 an equal mixture of gameplay and cutscenes, captured in-game on PlayStation 5.

Rockstar’s February 4, 2022 community update said active development of the next Grand Theft Auto was well underway. It did not announce a launch date.

BBC News reported Rockstar’s September 19, 2022 confirmation that early development footage had been stolen in a network intrusion. Rockstar said work would continue as planned and anticipated no long-term development effect. This records the statement, not a retrospective proof of its outcome; no leaked material is hosted here.

Eurogamer reproduced Sam Houser’s November 8, 2023 statement announcing the first trailer for early December, alongside Rockstar’s 25th-anniversary message.

On December 1, 2023, Rockstar scheduled Trailer 1 for December 5; Eurogamer recorded the announcement. The trailer ultimately appeared on December 4 after a leak, so the scheduled and actual premiere dates are different events.

Eurogamer reported that Rockstar published Trailer 1 early on December 4, 2023 after it leaked, and directed viewers to the official YouTube upload. The 2025 launch window in that original trailer is historical, not the current plan.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Alex Weprin records 93 million YouTube views for Trailer 1 in its first 24 hours, describing it as the platform’s biggest non-music video launch at that time. This is a historical launch metric, not today’s view count.

Rockstar told The Hollywood Reporter that Trailer 2 exceeded 475 million views across platforms in its first 24 hours. The company called it the biggest video launch of all time. That superlative is Rockstar’s claim; the cross-platform total is not directly comparable with Trailer 1’s YouTube-only figure.

GamesRadar+ identifies Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” with Trailer 1 and The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together” with Trailer 2. These are promotional-media music identifications, not a complete licensed radio playlist.

indy100’s Jake Brigstock, relaying GTA VI O’Clock’s identifications, also names “Child Support” by Zenglen, “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” by Wang Chung and “Talkin’ to Myself Again” by Tammy Wynette in Trailer 2. The attribution chain matters: these are reported identifications, not Rockstar-issued radio credits.

Rockstar’s October 8 radio announcement previews six stations: Cocoteo (modern Latin; El Martillo and La Gata), Back Country (country; MW and Delta Dawne), Afro Bank FM (amapiano, African classics and 3-step; Burna and Palmsy), The Chamber (metal; DJ Kerry and DJ Tom), Flash FM (pop; Robyn and Alex), and Dirty South Classics (regional rap and hip-hop classics; Trick and Trina). These are selected station previews, not a complete launch roster.

At 0:07 and 0:08, the inspected frames show coastal homes, palms and a boat; at 0:09 the shot shows a raised wooden house and a parked car. The 0:06 sample is black.

Samples at 0:58–1:00 show a man facing a seated person across a screened service window. At 1:01 the man turns toward a gated passage.

Samples at 1:20 and 1:21 show a man and woman holding bottles; at 1:22 and 1:23 they are seated by the water with a small boat in front of them.

The 0:13 frame shows an aerial view of a crowded beach and breaking surf below high-rise towers; at 0:15 and 0:16 the camera looks across the towers while the words “Rockstar Games presents” sit over the skyline.
