Farming MRP: the Cactuar in Chapter 4

Quick answer

Two creator videos farm MRP on the Cactuar, a Lv.30 enemy in the reddish desert of the Zoldaad Empire Territory in Chapter 4. Its info card lists the trait 'Awards a large amount of MRP.' It has high evasion but stops evading while staggered, so stagger it, then finish it. Two result screens paid 429 MRP (with a Stagger Finish Bonus) and 220 MRP (no MRP bonus tag shown). Neither source establishes an exact farming coordinate, encounter frequency or MRP-per-hour rate.

The Cactuar's info card (Lv.30)

Reveal solution / story details

Primalliquid's video opens the Cactuar's info card: Lv.30, 666 HP, type Plantoid. Its traits read 'Has high evasion.', 'Awards a large amount of MRP.' and 'Has high evasion, but stops evading while staggered.' It drops a Healing Spring, and you can steal a Mist Ether or, rarely, a Magicite Shard. BltzZ's target label reads 'Lv.30 Cactuar' with the enemy staggered, at about 9:16.

  1. Stagger the Cactuar first; its card says it stops evading while staggered.
  2. Try to finish it while it's staggered: BltzZ's staggered Cactuar paid a Stagger Finish Bonus, though no video here states the rule.

What a fight pays

Reveal solution / story details

BltzZ's result screen, read at about 9:32, shows EXP Gained 1,111, Gil Obtained 1,444 with an Overkill Bonus and MRP Gained 429 with a Stagger Finish Bonus. Primalliquid's Cactuar fight paid EXP Gained 1,333 with a No Damage Bonus, Gil Obtained 1,111 and MRP Gained 220 with no bonus tag, and his Growth screen takes the same 220 off each character's next Mastery rank. For scale, ordinary battles in our Chapter 1 demo play test paid 4 to 11 MRP.

The two payouts come from separate runs with unknown difficulty and different bonuses, so they are not a controlled comparison. Record your own settled MRP Gained value, bonus labels, time spent finding encounters and fight duration before estimating a rate. That measurement checklist is Kingy's recommendation; no timed farm has been tested here.
